Exterior Features
Hyundai offers the 2013 Elantra GT as a 5-door hatchback equipped with a single level of trim. Styling is created from Hyundai's \"Fluidic Sculpture\" themes, and the Elantra GT is equipped with heated outside mirrors, fog lights, rear spoiler, and 16-inch aluminum wheels.

Interior Features
Every 2013 Elantra GT is equipped with air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, and a trip computer. Premium cloth is wrapped around the seats, the front seats are heated, and the 6-speaker sound system includes a CD player, satellite radio, auxiliary input jack, USB/iPod connection, and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity.

BlueLink telematics is also standard, offering a variety of safety, information and convenience features. The Elantra GT's driver's seat provides manual height adjustment, the center console armrest slides for greater comfort, and the 60/40-split rear seatback folds down to convert 23 cubic feet of trunk space into 51 cubic feet of cargo volume.

Optional Features
Elantra GT buyers can select a Style package that contains larger 17-inch aluminum wheels, sport suspension, leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, panoramic sunroof, 10-way power driver's seat, aluminum pedal covers, and side mirrors with turn signal repeater lights.

A Tech package is also available, featuring a navigation system, premium sound system, reversing camera, dual-zone automatic climate control with a Clean Air ionizer, keyless entry and push-button ignition, and automatic headlights.

Under the Hood
The Elantra GT is front-wheel drive and has a 148-horsepower, 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. An optional 6-speed automatic transmission includes Shiftronic manual control and an Active Eco system is designed to improve fuel economy.

A driver-selectable steering mode is also standard, modifying the Elantra GT's electric steering tuning to one of three settings: Comfort, Normal and Sport.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT are:
  • Elantra GT with manual transmission: 27/39/31 mpg (city/highway/combined)
  • Elantra GT with automatic transmission: 28/39/32 mpg

Safety
Hyundai equips the 2013 Elantra GT with 7 air bags, including a driver's knee air bag. Additionally, the 5-door hatchback comes with traction control, stability control, and 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist. The Elantra GT's standard Blue Link telematics system features such safety-related services as SOS Emergency Assistance. A reversing camera is optional, available only in the Tech package.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives the Elantra GT an overall crash-test rating of 5 stars (out of 5). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not assessed the 2013 Elantra GT's crashworthiness as this overview is written.
