Overview

What's New for 2015:
  • No changes are made following a year of several improvements

Introduction
A minivan with seating for up to 8 people, the 2015 Honda Odyssey competes against other family haulers such as the Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, Kia Sedona, Nissan Quest, and the Toyota Sienna. It was last completely redesigned for the 2011 model year. An all-new Odyssey is expected for the 2016 model year.

Models and Features
Honda offers the 2015 Odyssey in LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Touring Elite levels of trim.

Choose the Odyssey EX to obtain aluminum wheels, wiper-linked automatic headlights, heated side mirrors, and power-sliding side doors. Inside, the EX seats 8 people rather than 7, and this version of the van also comes with a 10-way power driver's seat, triple-zone automatic climate control with a humidity sensor and an air filter, Smart Entry system and push-button engine starting, LaneWatch monitoring system, and an upgraded touch-screen audio system with HondaLink connectivity. Additionally, the Odyssey EX has an outside temperature display, compass, universal garage door opener, conversation mirror, removable front center console, second-row sunshades, and a security system.

Upgrade to the Odyssey EX-L for leather seats, heated front seats, forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning systems, power sunroof, power rear liftgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, satellite radio, and a cooled storage bin at the bottom of the dashboard.

The Odyssey Touring is equipped with 18-in. aluminum wheels, fog lights, turn signal indicators for the side mirrors, front and rear park-assist sensors, and an acoustic windshield for a quieter cabin. The Touring model also has a navigation system, upgraded multi-angle reversing camera, memory for the driver's settings, and a rear-seat entertainment system with a 115-volt power outlet, along with ambient cabin lighting, sunshades for the third-row seat, and an improved trip computer.

The Touring Elite is the top-of-the-line version of the Odyssey, featuring a segment-exclusive HondaVac on-board vacuum hose, HID headlights, high-resolution Ultrawide rear-entertainment screen with HDMI technology, blind-spot information system, and a 650-watt premium surround-sound audio system with HD Radio.

Under the Hood
A 248-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine is standard for every 2015 Odyssey, along with a 6-speed automatic transmission that delivers the power to the minivan's front wheels. The V-6 engine includes Honda's Variable Cylinder Management technology, which allows the engine to operate on fewer cylinders under certain driving conditions in order to increase fuel efficiency.

Fuel Economy
The EPA rates the 2015 Odyssey to deliver 18 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The rating in combined driving is 22 mpg.

Safety and Technology
Depending on the trim level, the 2015 Odyssey may be equipped with a LaneWatch system that uses a camera to monitor traffic on the van's right side, while an expanded-view mirror assists the driver in checking traffic on the van's left side. Get the Odyssey Touring Elite and a blind-spot warning system is standard, monitoring both sides of the van. Additional safety-related upgrades include a lane-departure warning system and a forward-collision warning system.

All 2015 Odysseys have an 8-in. infotainment screen, Bluetooth connectivity and streaming audio capability, text-messaging support, and a USB port, as well as access to Pandora Internet radio. Upgrade to the Odyssey EX for a touch-screen radio and HondaLink connectivity and services including Aha Radio, or choose the Odyssey Touring Elite to obtain a 12-speaker surround-sound audio system. Two different rear-seat entertainment systems are available, too, with the premium wide-screen setup available exclusively on the Touring Elite.

The Touring Elite is also the only version of the 2015 Odyssey equipped with a class-exclusive feature called HondaVac. A vacuum system designed to suck up the detritus of daily family life, the HondaVac is located in the rear cargo area but the hose stretches all the way to the front seats.
