Overview

The Viper's 8.4-liter engine remains unchanged from 2008, with Chrysler's unique variable valve timing offering 600 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. Dodge claims under 4-second zero-to-60 times, with a 200-mph top speed. A Tremec 6-speed manual remains the only available transmission, and a twin-disc clutch and limited-slip rear end help wrestle the Viper's power to the ground. A special swinging oil pickup helps keep oil flowing even under hard acceleration and tight cornering.
2016,
2016,Both a coupe and a roadster are again available. The coupe retains distinctive "double bubble" styling, while the roadster again comes with a manually operated soft top and heated glass rear window. Standard features include dual power mirrors, power windows, power door locks, keyless entry, power adjustable pedals, air conditioning and HID headlamps. A tan leather interior is available this year, as well as several instrument bezel finish choices.
2016,
2016,Anti-lock brakes with massive 14-inch rotors with Brembo dual-opposing piston calipers are standard. Huge 18-inch by 10-inch front wheels and 19-inch by 13-inch wheels are also standard, again fitted with Pilot Sport PS2 performance tires. Aluminum control arms are used front and rear, along with lightweight coil-over-shocks. A total of 12 exterior colors are available, along with six stripe colors, five interior colors and four wheel options.
2016,
2016,The ACR package, available only in coupe form, adds a carbon-fiber front splitter, hood louvers and rear wing to the exterior, with race-bred adjustable KW shocks, larger stabilizers, and much stiffer springs. Forty pounds of weight are shaved off the stock Viper, and unsprung weight is also reduced considerably through the use of "Sidewinder" forged wheels and 2-piece brake rotors. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires come standard. An optional "Hard Core" package reduces weight even further through the removal of the audio system and most of the sound deadener.
2016,
2016,Built since 2008, the fourth generation Viper is scheduled to end production after the 2010 model year. 500 cars will be built, as well as 50 "Final Edition" units (20 coupes, 18 roadsters, and 12 ACRs), which will feature special "AXZ" build codes.
