Exterior Features
The 2013 Dodge Avenger is a 4-door, 5-passenger sedan offered in SE, SXT and R/T trim levels. Standard exterior features include power exterior mirrors, 17-inch steel wheels with plastic wheel covers, and LED taillights.

Interior Features
The 2013 Dodge Avenger SE is equipped with standard air conditioning, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, cruise control, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, outside temperature display, and a 4-speaker stereo with a CD player, satellite radio, auxiliary audio input jack, and audio controls on the steering wheel. Additional features include a manual driver-seat height adjuster and a fold-flat front passenger seat.

Optional Features
An SE V-6 option package adds to the 2013 Avenger SE trim a V-6 engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch aluminum wheels, rear decklid spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. The Avenger SE can also be equipped with Uconnect Bluetooth connectivity with a USB port, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 18-inch aluminum wheels.

The 2013 Dodge Avenger SXT is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, and body-color side mirror housings. The SXT also comes standard with an 8-way power driver seat, automatic climate control, heated side mirrors, trip computer, and a color vehicle information display. Two extra stereo speakers are standard on this trim, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, illuminated visor vanity mirrors, and LED cabin lighting.

Options for the Avenger SXT include a Uconnect infotainment system with a USB port and Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, leather seats, heated front seats, and a power sunroof. A new SXT Rallye Appearance Group adds 18-inch aluminum wheels, body-color grille, dark-tinted headlights, and a rear spoiler. A V-6 engine is also offered on this trim.

The 2013 Dodge Avenger R/T includes a standard V-6 engine, sport-tuned suspension, body-color exterior trim, unique 18-inch polished aluminum wheels, darkened headlamp backgrounds, rear spoiler, and R/T fender stripes. The heated front seats get leather bolsters and fabric \"Z-stripe\" inserts, and the Avenger R/T includes a two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel, sport pedals, and a unique gauge cluster with a center-mounted tachometer.

Additional Avenger R/T features include red ambient interior lighting, Boston Acoustics sound system, Uconnect technology with voice control, and a universal garage door opener. A navigation system with Bluetooth music streaming and a USB port is optional, as is a power sunroof.

Under the Hood
A 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that creates 173 horsepower is standard on the 2013 Dodge Avenger SE and SXT. The SE trim is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission, while the SXT gets a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control.

A 283-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine is optional on the Avenger SE and SXT, and is standard on the Avenger R/T. It is connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Dodge Avenger are:
  • Avenger 4-cylinder with 4-speed automatic transmission: 21/29/24 mpg (city/highway/combined)
  • Avenger 4-cylinder with 6-speed automatic transmission: 20/31/23 mpg
  • Avenger V-6: 19/29/22 mpg

Safety
The 2013 Dodge Avenger is equipped with 6 air bags, traction and stability control system, and 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist. A tire-pressure monitoring system providing inflation pressure for each tire is included on the SXT and R/T trims.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives the 2013 Dodge Avenger an overall crash-test score of 4 (out of 5) stars. Notably, the front passenger frontal-impact rating is 3 stars, the driver side-impact rating is 3 stars, and the driver side-impact pole test rating is 2 stars. As this overview was written, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) had not performed crash tests on the 2013 Dodge Avenger. However, the structurally identical 2012 model was named a \"Top Safety Pick\" by the Institute.
