Exterior Features
The 2012 Chevrolet Corvette is offered as a hatchback coupe or convertible sports car, and is available in six models: Coupe, Convertible, Grand Sport Coupe, Grand Sport Convertible, performance-oriented Z06, and ultra-high-performance ZR1. The Coupe and Convertible models come in four trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT and 4LT. The base 1LT trim features 18-inch front wheels and 19-inch rear wheels, limited-slip differential, automatic Xenon headlights, fog lights, keyless ignition and entry, removable roof panel (for the Coupe models) and a manual-folding soft top (for the Convertible models). Upper trims add such enhancements as a power-folding soft top, stiffer springs and stabilizer bars, and various styling touches. The Z06 and ZR1 models add a long list of performance enhancements.

Interior Features
The Corvette's 1LT trim includes leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, power accessories, and a 7-speaker sound system. Upper trims add Bluetooth connectivity, touch-screen navigation system, upgraded sound system, more power features, upgraded upholstery with faux suede seat inserts, and other styling upgrades.

Optional Features
An adaptive suspension is available on all Corvette trims, as is dual-mode exhaust. The Chevrolet Centennial Special Edition--which includes an adaptive suspension, red and black wheels, and special black body paint--is available with the 3LT and 4LT trims.

Under the Hood
The 2012 Chevrolet Corvette is offered with one of three engines. The standard power plant is a 6.2-liter V-8 engine rated at 430 horsepower. The Z06 model is fitted with a 7.0-liter V-8 engine rated at 505 horsepower. The ZR1 features a supercharged, 6.2-liter V-8 engine delivering 638 horsepower. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual; however, a 6-speed automatic is optional on all but the high-performance models. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all Corvettes.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette are:
- Corvette Coupe/Convertible with manual transmission: 16/26/19 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- Corvette Z06: 15/24/18 mpg
- Corvette ZR1: 14/20/16 mpg

Standard safety features on the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette include anti-lock brakes, traction control, front-seat side air bags, and side curtain air bags.

Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have conducted crash tests on the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette.
