What's New for 2013:
  • Standard Buick IntelliLink color touch-screen radio with Bluetooth
  • Electric steering added to vehicles with V-6 engine
  • Optional HID headlights gain blue Buick surround rings
  • Additional colors: Mocha Bronze, Champagne Silver and Atlantis Blue

Exterior Features
The 2013 LaCrosse is equipped with standard active grille shutters, underbody panels, and low-rolling-resistance tires to improve aerodynamics and fuel economy, Buick says. With the standard eAssist powertrain, the trunk measures just 11.4 cubic feet. Vehicles equipped with a V-6 engine provide 13.3 cubic feet of cargo space.

Interior Features
The standard Buick IntelliLink premium color touch-screen radio includes smartphone integration via Bluetooth or USB port, Internet audio streaming from Pandora and Stitcher, and is newly compatible with the LaCrosse's optional navigation system. Additional standard features on the 2013 LaCrosse include dual-zone automatic climate control, heated exterior mirrors, remote engine starting, and a Homelink universal remote.

Optional Features
Upgrade trim levels include leather seats, heated front seats, power front-passenger's seat, rear park assist, reversing camera, and more. The LaCrosse Premium I trim options include perforated leather, ventilated front seats, passive entry, push-button start, rear window sunshade, and a leather-and-wood steering wheel. The LaCrosse Premium II trim options include a Harman Kardon premium surround-sound system, 18-inch chrome wheels, and HiPer strut front suspension. The LaCrosse Touring is the top-of-the-line trim, and may be equipped with 19-inch machined-face wheels and a continuously variable damping suspension with Sport mode. A Driver Confidence package adds side blind-zone alert, head-up display, articulating HID headlights, and a navigation system.

Under the Hood
The LaCrosse's standard eAssist mild hybrid powertrain combines a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with a small electric assist motor and a Lithium-ion battery. A 6-speed automatic transmission delivers 182 combined horsepower to the front wheels. The eAssist powertrain is standard on base and Leather trims.

Premium and Touring trims are equipped with a direct-injection, 303-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine, which is optional on the base and Leather variants. A 6-speed automatic transmission drives the front wheels (FWD). All-wheel drive (AWD) is an option on Leather and Premium I trim levels equipped with a V-6 engine.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Buick LaCrosse are:
  • LaCrosse with eAssist: 25/36/29 mpg (city/highway/combined)
  • LaCrosse with V-6 engine and FWD: 17/27/21 mpg
  • LaCrosse with V-6 engine and AWD: To be determined

Each Buick LaCrosse is equipped with 6 air bags, traction and stability control, 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist, and 6 months of free OnStar service with automatic crash notification. Rear park assist and a reversing camera are standard on all trims except the base model, and a side blind-zone alert system is available on the LaCrosse Touring trim. Optional are rear-seat side-impact air bags.

The 2013 LaCrosse received an overall crash-test rating of 5 (out of 5) stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The 2013 Buick LaCrosse had not been crash tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) when this overview was written.
