What's New for 2015:
- Heated steering wheel added to Leather and Premium equipment groups
- Four new exterior colors
- One new interior color
The 2015 Buick Enclave is a full-size crossover SUV designed to seat up to 8 people in 3 rows of seats. Due to Buick's position as a premium brand, the Enclave competes against the most expensive mainstream family crossovers as well as with more basic versions of larger luxury SUVs.
Models and Features
Buick sells the Enclave with standard equipment and a choice between three equipment groups called Convenience, Leather, and Premium.
The Convenience group features are essentially standard. Upgrading to the Leather group adds leather seats, 8-way power-adjustable front passenger's seat, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and driver memory settings. A side blind-zone alert system with rear cross-traffic alert is also included, as well as larger 19-in. aluminum wheels.
The Premium group is equipped with a navigation system, premium audio system, ventilated front seats, and a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Safety features include forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning systems, and the Enclave Premium adds chrome wheels, power-folding exterior mirrors with driver's side auto-dimming glass and integrated turn signal indicators, and articulating HID headlights that help the driver to see around dark corners.
Under the Hood
Buick keeps things simple under the Enclave's hood. A 288-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission represent the sole powertrain offering, and this SUV is equipped with standard front-wheel drive (FWD). An all-wheel-drive (AWD) system is optional.
According to the EPA, the 2015 Enclave is estimated to get 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway with standard FWD. Opt for AWD and those numbers drop to 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
Safety and Technology
As standard equipment, the 2015 Enclave includes a reversing camera and a front center air bag designed to protect the driver and front-seat passenger from crash forces originating from the opposite side of the SUV from where they are seated.
Following the collision and air bag deployment, the standard OnStar system's Automatic Crash Response feature automatically dials an emergency operator in order to speed rescuers to the scene of the accident, as long as the OnStar subscription is active. OnStar also provides a RemoteLink mobile app for smartphones, allowing owners to lock or unlock the Enclave from a remote location, start the engine to heat or cool the cabin prior to driving, and more.
The Enclave's standard IntelliLink technology is also compatible with a smartphone. Together with the standard Color Touch radio, these systems provide Bluetooth connectivity and voice-recognition technology, as well as HD Radio, satellite radio, Pandora Internet radio, and a USB port. A navigation system is available as an upgrade.
Enclave buyers can also select an optional rear-seat entertainment system with a single viewing screen, audio/video input jacks, and a 3-prong, 120-volt, household-style power outlet, making it perfect for attaching gaming systems.
