Exterior Features
The 2012 Audi Q7 is a full-size, 7-passenger luxury SUV available in three trim levels and a clean-diesel version. Its curb weight is 5,500 pounds, which is large for its segment. All-wheel drive (AWD) is standard, as are 18-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, roof rails, and a power liftgate with programmable opening angle.

Interior Features
Standard features on the Audi Q7 include dual-zone automatic climate control, heated 12-way power front seats, leather upholstery, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, reclining 40/20/40 split-folding second-row seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth connectivity, multimedia interface, and an 11-speaker sound system that includes satellite radio. Third-row seating provides limited space for adults.

Optional Features
Higher trims of the 2012 Audi Q7 offer adaptive Xenon headlights, LED running lights, panoramic sunroof, rearview camera, front parking sensors, auto-dimming and power-folding exterior mirrors, driver memory functions, navigation system, and Bose surround-sound system with HD radio and DVD audio capability. A Warm Weather package offers a deep-tint panoramic sunroof, 4-zone automatic climate control, and manual sunshades for rear doors and tailgate.

Under the Hood
The Audi Q7 is powered by a 3.0-liter, supercharged V-6 engine rated at 280 horsepower in the 3.0T trim and by a 3.0-liter, supercharged V-6 engine in the S line trim that boosts power output to 333 horsepower. All Q7s are fitted with a standard 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD. A TDI version of the Q7 is powered by a 3.0-liter, turbo-diesel V-6 engine rated at 225 horsepower.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Audi Q7 are:
- Q7 with either 3.0-liter engine: 16/22/18 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- Q7 with clean-diesel TDI engine: 17/25/20 mpg

Standard safety features on the 2012 Audi Q7 include anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control, a battery of air bags, and rear parking sensors. A blind-spot monitoring system is standard on the highest trim level. Second-row side air bags are available on all trim levels.

In government tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Q7 received 4 (out of 5) stars for rollover protection. In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Q7 received \"Good\" ratings--the Institute's highest--for frontal-offset, side-impact, and rear-crash protection.
