Redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion Recalled for Headlight Problem

Redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion Recalled for Headlight Problem

By Jeff Youngs, December 03, 2012
The new 2013 Ford Fusion is the subject of a new recall pertaining to the headlights.

According to the recall, the low-beam headlights installed on 19,106 units of the Fusion that were built between February 3, 2012, and October 20, 2012, require replacement. In these Fusions, the projector coating for the low-beam headlights may have been improperly cured, reducing headlight brightness over time, leading to reduced visibility and increased risk of a crash.

Ford dealers will replace the headlight assemblies on the affected vehicles, starting the week of December 10. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Campaign ID number for this recall is 12V553000, Ford's recall campaign number is 12C27, and owners with questions can contact the Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center at 1-866-436-7332.
