Recall Roundup: Mercedes-Benz Recalls C-Class, GLE, GLS, GLA Vehicles

During the past week, Mercedes-Benz USA (Mercedes-Benz) issued several recalls of light passenger vehicles from the 2015 through 2018 model years. The recalls affect a total of 5,726 vehicles.

2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA250 4Matic

  • Number of vehicles affected: 8
  • Issue: The low-beam headlight settings on these vehicles may deviate from the required specification, reducing the range of light.
  • Remedy: Mercedes owns the affected vehicles. Dealers will inspect the headlight adjustment, correcting it as necessary.
  • Timing: The recall began on October 27, 2017. Owners may contact Mercedes-Benz customer service at 1-877-496-3691.

2015-2016 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG
2015-2017 Mercedes-Benz C63S AMG
2017 Mercedes-AMG C63S Coupe, C63 Cabrio

  • Number of vehicles affected: 2,098
  • Issue: In the affected 2015-2016 C63 AMG, 2015-2017 C63S and 2017 C63S AMG Coupe and C63 AMG Cabrio vehicles, the rear axle differential mounting flange may fracture from repeated aggressive launches.
  • Remedy: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle's stability system software and chassis control unit software free of charge.
  • Timing: The recall is expected to begin in December 2017. Owners may contact Mercedes-Benz customer service at 1-877-496-3691.

2016-2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE, GLE63 AMG, GLE63S
2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS

  • Number of vehicles affected: 3,620
  • Issue: The affected 2016 GLE300d 4Matic, GLE400 4Matic, GLE350 4Matic, GLE63 AMG, GLE63 AMG Coupe, GLE63S AMG, and GLE63S AMG Coupe; and 2017 GLS450 4Matic, GLE550 4Matic, and GLE63 AMG 4Matic vehicles may have excess bulkhead insulation extending into the lower windshield area, possibly affecting the windshield bonding and the deployment of the passenger's frontal air bag in the event of a crash.
  • Remedy: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners, and dealers will remove any excess bulkhead insulation and rework the windshield bonding, as necessary, free of charge.
  • Timing: The recall is expected to begin in December 2017. Owners may contact Mercedes-Benz customer service at 1-877-496-3691.
