Aston Martin V12 Vantage Coupe Recalled for Tire-Pressure Sensor

By Jeff Youngs, October 17, 2012
Because underinflated tires can become overloaded and overheated, leading to a possible failure of the tire and the car to crash, Aston Martin is recalling 169 of the 2009-2012 V12 Vantage Coupes.

The problem is that the tire-pressure monitoring warning light does not illuminate until front tire pressure drops 25% below the recommended cold-tire inflation pressure. This does not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems." To remedy the issue, Aston Martin dealers will reprogram the software governing the tire-pressure monitoring system.

No date to perform the service has been established as this recall notice is written, but owners can contact Aston Martin at 1-888-923-9988. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) campaign ID number for this recall is 12V480000.
