2013 Cadillac XTS Recalled for Rear-Seat Head Restraint Problem

By Jeff Youngs, November 15, 2012
The new 2013 Cadillac XTS is being recalled for a problem with the rear-seat head restraint. In 12,626 units of the large luxury sedan, the rear-seat head restraints may not lock in the upright position after they have been folded forward to improve visibility through the rear window. If rear-seat head restraints are not locked in the proper position, they may not protect passengers in a collision, increasing the risk of neck injury.

The affected XTS vehicles were built between October 12, 2011, and August 30, 2012. The recall began on November 12. Owners can contact General Motors at 1-800-458-8006 with questions, and should reference National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) campaign ID number 12V525000 or General Motors recall number 12258.
