Mercedes-Benz Joins the Vehicle Subscription Service Party

By Joseph Dobrian, April 13, 2018
Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA have jointly announced that they will launch Mercedes-Benz Collection, a luxury vehicle subscription service that allows customers to switch in and out of vehicles depending on their needs or lifestyle. This announcement comes on the heels of the announcement of a similar program by BMW Financial Services. Mercedes’ service will be rolled out in two pilot markets—Nashville, Tenn., and Philadelphia—in partnership with local Mercedes-Benz dealers.

At each location, customers may choose from a broad selection of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, at various “subscription tiers.” Each tier will allow access to the company's popular high-performance Mercedes-AMG models. Offerings will include SUV, sedan, coupe, cabriolet, roadster, and wagon models.

A combination of a phone/computer app, and concierge service, drives the Mercedes-Benz Collection experience. Once subscribed, customers may initiate vehicle exchanges, concierge communication, and other actions via the app. Concierge staffers then ensure fulfillment, consistent with the details and preferences in the customer's profile. Subscribers will enjoy unlimited access within their tier, and no mileage limitations. The monthly subscription fee also includes insurance, 24/7 roadside assistance, and vehicle maintenance.

For more information, and to be notified when Mercedes-Benz Collection will begin accepting applications, customers may visit collection.mbusa.com. Additional details will be announced closer to launch.
