Ram Unveils Texas-Lux 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Edition

By Philly Murtha, January 29, 2018
Recently, Ram unveiled a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Edition to appeal to truck buyers who want an authentic Texas-style deluxe large pickup. Wood, leather, chrome, and steel treatments give a personalized “Southwestern” look and feel to a pickup for motorists who favor tooled cowboy boots and brimmed hat like those made by Stetson. The Laramie Longhorn package price will be revealed closer to when the truck launches this spring.

The special 2019 Ram 1500 variant most likely will be equipped with 3.6-liter V-6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engines partnered with an 8-speed automatic transmission that were previewed at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month. This crew cab variant, however, pampers with Southwestern flavor and the return of RV Match Brown two-tone exterior paint in addition to one-color choices. Premium LED lighting and oversized wheels and grilles are also part of the new variant’s package.

Some of the package details include chrome “Ram” grille and header surround with a premium LED adaptive front headlight system. Chrome bumpers, tow hooks, side steps and wheel flares are standard. The Southwestern luxury variant rides on 20- or 22-in. wheels available in a number of finishes. Additionally, the Longhorn Edition features a belt-buckle badge on the front doors and tailgate.

Inside, design cues are taken from craftsmanship used in hand-tooled cowboy boots and saddles. The dashboard is covered in full-grain leather with western-designed door panel and armrests. Heated seats are covered in an embossed alligator pattern leather as are the center console, instrument panel, and door panel inserts. Interior color selections include a combination of browns or black and cattle tan with contrast piping. A novel “Longhorn” mark is branded into the wood-trimmed glove box door and barn wood accents and ambient lighting are used to create a feeling of ranch-like comfort and luxury, Ram says.

In addition, Ram’s 2019 1500 Laramie Longhorn variant includes the latest technology and connectivity including 4G Wi-Fi, SiriusXM satellite radio with 360L audio system, multiple USB ports with the Uconnect system, and 12-in. touch screen that has split-screen capability.
