Porsche Takes Wraps off 2016 Cayman Black Edition Sports Car

By Philly Murtha, October 05, 2015

German sports car maker Porsche has unveiled the 2016 Cayman Black Edition featuring a “Black on Black” design and a host of special features. The exclusive Porsche Black Edition Cayman will reach dealer showrooms in January at a suggested retail price of less than $60,000, according to the automaker.

The newest of Porsche’s elegant Black Edition lineup that already includes 911 Carrera and Boxster model-exclusive trim levels will be equipped with a sporty steering wheel, doorsill guards with the Black Edition logo, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, and headrests embossed with the Porsche crest. Black exterior paint is standard, although Jet Black Metallic is optional.

Like its fellow special-edition Carrera and Boxster stablemates, the Cayman Black Edition is powered by the same 275-horsepower, 2.7-liter flat-6 engine as the Boxster. Porsche states that the elegant Black Edition 2016 Cayman will be equipped with Carrera Classic silver wheels and have bi-xenon dynamic headlights in addition to front and rear park-assist systems.

For extra comfort, this sporty model includes dual-zone climate control and heated seats for both driver and passenger. Porsche’s infotainment system is standard and includes navigation and an upscale audio system. The 2016 Black Edition Cayman has an MSRP of $59,200. With the $995 destination charge, the suggested retail tag is $60,195.
