Nissan's Redesigned 2017 Titan Pickup Gets "Best Truck Warranty"

Nissan's Redesigned 2017 Titan Pickup Gets "Best Truck Warranty"

By Philly Murtha, August 15, 2016
Nissan has announced that it will offer what it calls “America’s Best Truck Warranty” on all redone 2017 Titan and Titan XD large pickups that begin arriving at dealerships later this month. The warranty features 5-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage. The automaker claims that the new warranty surpasses rivals’ standard protection programs by 2 years and up to 64,000 miles.

Nissan’s redone Titan pickups, covered by the new basic and powertrain coverage, include Titan V-8 gasoline and diesel-powered models. Also, all 2017 Titan XD Crew Cab or Single Cab models in 4x4 or 4x2 configurations are covered by the same protection plan. A Nissan official said the new warranty offers the same coverage as for Nissan’s commercial vehicles, such as “America’s Best Commercial Van Warranty” that Nissan began offering two years ago for commercial NV and Cargo vans.

Nissan’s all-new 2017 Titan half-ton pickup is powered by the automaker's new 5.6-liter Endurance V-8 engine that produces 390 horsepower, while the Titan XD truck is offered as a Crew Cab with a choice of a Cummins 5.0-liter V-8 turbodiesel or the Endurance V-8. The new Single Cab body joins the lineup in late fall. A King Cab with a V-6 will be added later. Ultimately, consumers will be able to choose a Nissan Titan from three cab bodies with a choice of three bed lengths, three engines, 4x4 and 4x2, and S, SV, SL, PRO-4X, and Platinum Reserve trim levels.

In addition to the Titan truck warranty announcement, Nissan also revealed suggested retail prices for the redesigned 2017 Titan lineup. Riding on a separate chassis from its larger sibling XD, the half-ton Titan Crew Cab truck has a starting MSRP of $34,780 (excluding $1,195 destination and handling charge) for the 4x2 configuration. The 2017 half-ton Titan shares the rugged appearance with jewel chrome grille with its larger sibling XD Titan, which debuted late in 2015.

Pricing was also released for the next 2017 Titan XD Crew Cab equipped with the same 5.6-liter gasoline V-8 as the “Standard” with a beginning MSRP of $36,290. Nissan’s Titan XD models powered by the 310-horsepower Cummins 5.0-liter V-8 turbodiesel and Single Cab pricing will be available later in the fall.
