By Philly Murtha, December 22, 2015
The all-new 2016 Nissan Titan XD 4-door pickup truck is available at U.S. Nissan car dealers this week. The base S 4x2 has a starting sticker price of $40,290, while the high-end Platinum Reserve 4x4 is priced at $60,520 (not including the $1,195 destination charge). The new Titan full-size truck is powered by a Cummins 5.0-liter V-8 turbodiesel that produces 310 horsepower with 550 lb.-ft. of torque.
Later next year, Nissan will roll out a complete range of its second-generation Titan that includes three cab configurations, two frame sizes, and three powertrain choices—including diesel, V-6, and V-8 options. The Titan originally debuted as a 2004 model and is manufactured at Nissan’s plant in Canton, MS.
Nissan’s redesigned Titan also will feature a host of towing aids such as the automaker’s Around View Monitor and integrated gooseneck trailer hitch, as well as many advanced safety and security features. Recently, the Titan was named “Truck of Texas” by a group of Texas auto writers and is one of three finalists for the 2016 North American Truck/Utility of the Year (NATOY) award, according to Nissan.
