Neiman Marcus Offers a McLaren Supercar for the Road

By Jeff Youngs, October 11, 2012
Have you dreamed about piloting your own special-edition street-legal race car? The 2013 Neiman Marcus limited-edition 12C Spider McLaren supercar is one of this year's fantasy gift purchases in the annual holiday catalog unveiled this week by the high-end Neiman Marcus department store based in Dallas, Texas.

The 2012 Neiman Marcus Christmas Book features a selection of fantasy gifts, including the exotic supercar with Formula 1 technology. For browsing and gift buying this year, the store has added an interactive component. A special app can be downloaded from the iTunes app store or that will allow a reader to take a photo of the catalog cover or a particular fantasy gift page and the photo will open to reveal a video or more detailed information.

Nine fantasy gifts, including the McLaren exotic supercar, are offered this year in conjunction with special charity donations. For a list price of $354,000, the buyer of the special-edition car will fly to England for a VIP dinner with McLaren Chairman Ron Dennis and will be escorted on a tour of the McLaren Technology Center before receiving the supercar.

McLaren's Volcano Red 12C supercar is built on a carbon-fiber composite chassis and is tuned with special performance technology to reach 60 mph in a mere 3.2 seconds. With the sale of each of the 12C Spider cars for sale, Neiman Marcus will donate $3,000 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring charity.  If you are interested in finding out more about the McLaren 12C Spider and the catalog, visit
