Mercedes-AMG debuted the production-ready 2019 AMG GT 4-Door Coupe at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show this week. The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, which was shown as a concept last year, arrives in showrooms in early 2019.

Really an athletic 4-door fastback sedan, the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is built on the E-Class midsize premium car platform, but features its own racecar-rigid bodyshell with low hood, steep slanted windshield, swept-back roofline and AMG’s new “shark nose” grille plus slim lighting systems. Three variants will be available with three engine options including inline 6 with EQ Boost and V-8s with race car top speeds of 174-195 mph. Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe will ride on a choice of 19-in. to 21-in light-alloy wheels.

The base GT 53 base is equipped with a turbocharged inline 6 that makes 429 horsepower and 384 lb.-ft. of torque. Next in line is the sportier GT 63, powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 that generates 577 horsepower and 533 lb.-ft. of torque. At the top is the GT 63 S powerhouse, energized by a V-8 that delivers 630 horsepower and 627 lb.-ft. of torque. All GT 4-Door Coupes are equipped with 9-speed automatics and all-wheel Drive (AWD).

In terms of performance, Mercedes-AMG new Coupes feature 4-wheel torque vectoring and adaptive damping for agility plus electronic locking rear differentials are standard on the GT 63 and GT 63 S. Also available: active rear-wheel steering and carbon ceramic brakes plus other modifications for optimal handling have been made. A large group of exterior treatment groups are optional, including an Aerodynamics package with high-gloss black elements, front bumper silver wing and fixed rear spoiler.

Cabin interiors integrate ultra-modern with Gran Turismo styling plus unique sporty fragrance—a first for AMG. A new steering wheel is loaded with touch controls for infotainment menu and selectable driving modes. Other highlights include a new center console design and two 12.3-in display screens. Seating choices include leather and microfiber combinations with brushed metal or carbon-fiber accents and several rear seating configurations can be selected.
