GMC's Denali Sub-Brand Proves Popular with SUV and Truck Buyers
By Christian Wardlaw, May 14, 2015
Luxury SUVs are spending little time sitting on car dealership lots, and the upscale GMC Denali sub-brand is proving popular with consumers. In 2014, 21% of the SUVs and trucks that GMC sold wore a Denali nameplate.
In the photo gallery that follows, we highlight some notable features for each of the 2015 GMC truck and SUV models--Acadia, Sierra, Terrain, and Yukon/Yukon XL--that offer the premium-grade Denali package.
A full-size crossover SUV with seating for up to 8 people, the GMC Acadia Denali features a special grille design, HID headlights with LED running lights, unique 20-in. aluminum wheels, and a monochromatic paint treatment with chrome detailing.
Inside, the Acadia Denali is equipped with premium perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, mahogany wood-tone trim, and genuine aluminum accents. A dual-panel moonroof is standard, along with a Bose premium sound system, touch-screen infotainment system with navigation, head-up display, and more.
Equipped with a 288-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine, the Acadia Denali is available with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert systems are standard, and the Acadia Denali can carry up to 116.1 cu. ft. of cargo. That's almost as much cargo room as the Yukon XL Denali.

Denali trim is available for the Sierra 1500, Sierra 2500HD, and Sierra 3500HD full-size pickup trucks. The 1500 model has an exclusive, 420-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 engine. For the HD models, GMC offers an optional DuraMax 6.6-liter turbo-diesel generating 397 horsepower and 765 lb.-ft. of torque. It replaces a standard 6.0-liter V-8.
Interior highlights for the Sierra Denali includes premium perforated leather seats with heating and ventilation for the driver and front passenger, heated steering wheel, and real aluminum trim accenting the dashboard. The latest version of GMC's IntelliLink infotainment technology includes a 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection, and a premium audio system is standard.
A signature chrome grille identifies the Denali version of the Sierra, along with unique paint, trim, and aluminum wheel designs. A spray-in bed liner is also standard for the Sierra Denali.

The standard IntelliLink infotainment system includes 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, text-messaging support, Siri Eyes Free technology, and a navigation system.
A power-programmable tailgate is standard for the Terrain Denali, opening to reveal 63.9 cu. ft. of maximum cargo space. Safety features include forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert systems.

Add the Denali treatment to a GMC Yukon or long-wheelbase Yukon XL and you've got a full-size 8-passenger SUV that approaches the Cadillac Escalade in terms of equipment and refinement. Sitting on standard 20-in. aluminum wheels, this Yukon has the signature Denali grille design, flanked by HID headlights and LED running lights. A 420-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 powers the Yukon Denali's rear wheels, and a 4-wheel-drive system is optional.
Premium perforated leather, genuine Java Burl poplar wood inlays, and authentic burnished aluminum trim upgrade the Yukon Denali's interior. Additional highlights include heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, heated and power-adjustable steering wheel, and a power-folding third-row seat.
Open the Yukon Denali's power-programmable rear liftgate to access up to 121.1 cu. ft. of cargo space. Thanks to standard 4G LTE connectivity, every Yukon Denali serves as a rolling Wi-Fi hotspot, and the touch-screen infotainment system supports hands-free text messaging, Siri Eyes Free voice commands, and more. A premium audio system is standard, a Blu-Ray rear-seat entertainment system is optional, and GMC offers a long list of driver-assistance technologies for every Yukon Denali.
