Chevrolet Widens Appeal of its Colorado Truck Lineup with New Midnight Edition, Z71 Trail Boss Variants
Chevrolet will release two special editions of its 2016 Colorado pickup this fall: the Midnight Edition and Z71 Trail Boss. Both trucks make bold visual statements, with distinctly tailored appearances that combine eye-catching design cues with the Colorado's popular options and accessories.
Chevrolet describes the Midnight Edition as evoking "the aesthetic of an urban tuner vehicle," while the Z71 Trail Boss looks and operates like a vehicle that's meant to be taken off-road.
The Colorado Midnight Edition echoes the blacked-out design theme introduced on the popular Silverado Midnight Edition. It's offered exclusively in black, with additional exterior details--such as the grille, bowtie emblem, and the 18-in. aluminum wheels--also finished in black. Other features include a spray-on bedliner and soft, folding tonneau cover, both in black, and Chevrolet-logo sill plates. The Midnight Edition Colorado is available on the LT trim level with the extended and crew cab bodies, in 2- or 4-wheel drive (2WD or 4WD), and with the 2.5-liter and 3.6-liter engines. It will also be available with the all-new 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine. Pricing will be announced later.
The Colorado Z71 Trail Boss builds on the capability of Chevrolet's Z71 off-road truck suspension package, with more aggressive tires and off-road-inspired appearance enhancements. An all-new sport bar with LED trail lighting makes the Z71 Trail Boss instantly identifiable. Other distinctive features include black-finished 17-in. aluminum wheels matched with aggressive Goodyear Wrangler DuraTec 265/65R17 all-terrain tires, bold fender flares, and tubular assist steps. Like the Midnight Edition, it features a black bowtie grille emblem and a spray-on bedliner, and a set of all-weather floor mats inside the truck. The Colorado Z71 Trail Boss is available on Z71 models with the extended and crew cab bodies, and in 2WD or 4WD. Like the Midnight Edition, it will also be available with the 2.5-liter and 3.6-liter engines, as well as the 2.8-liter Duramax diesel. Pricing for this truck also will be announced later.
