Camaro Commemorative Edition Debuts at 2014 SEMA Show
By Jeff Youngs, November 05, 2014
Chevrolet is using the high-gloss backdrop of the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas to debut a slew of new concept and production models, one of which is the 2015 Camaro Commemorative Edition. Serving as a farewell to the current-generation Camaro (a redesigned version arrives for 2016), which Chevy notes has enjoyed strong sales since its launch in 2009, this unique iteration of the Bowtie-branded Mustang foe can be ordered as a coupe or convertible with either the 2LT or 2SS trim level, and features the RS package as standard equipment. Engine choices include a 323-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 or a 426-horsepower 6.2-liter V-8 mated with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
All examples are fitted with distinctive 20-in. alloy wheels, a rear spoiler borrowed from the Camaro ZL1, HID headlights, body-color roof moldings, and an aerodynamic "shark-fin" radio antenna. On top of that, the 2015 Commemorative Edition boasts the requisite fender badges, lower front splitter that provides a more aggressive look and improved down force, hood insert (SS only), and a narrow horizontal stripe that runs along the doors and front bumper. Inside is an exclusive Adrenaline Red interior scheme highlighted by black and red leather upholstery, Commemorative Edition doorsill plates, and Adrenaline Red accents throughout the cabin.
When the Camaro Commemorative Edition goes on sale in early 2015, buyers will have a total of five paint and stripe combinations from which to select: Red Hot with Black stripe, Silver Ice Metallic with Cyber Gray stripe, Black with Cyber Gray stripe, Ashen Gray Metallic with Silver stripe, and Summit White with Silver stripe.
Pricing for the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Commemorative Edition has not yet been announced.
