Cadillac Celebrates Anniversary with 2018 CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition

By Philly Murtha, August 22, 2017

Cadillac will honor its 115-year birthday (Aug. 22, 1902) with a limited run of 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition super sedans. Some 115 copies of the special CTS-V will be painted in the brand’s anniversary color: smoky light gray. These super sedans will include a host of performance and premium sports features and will begin arriving at select Cadillac dealerships in September. The suggested price is $103,885 (including destination fee)—$15,895 more than a standard, less-loaded 2018 Cadillac CTS-V.

On the outside, the special-edition CTS-V sedan has body-matching illuminated door handles. It will ride on 19-in. forged polished alloy wheels with Midnight Silver painted pockets. Dark red performance Brembo brake calipers are part of the package, along with Cadillac’s sporty Carbon Fiber package, featuring a carbon fiber front splitter, hood vent, rear spoiler, and diffuser.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels through an 8-speed sport automatic transmission with Cadillac’s Performance Algorithm Shifting. A performance traction system is also part of the car’s pedigree, with five driving modes that adapt for comfort from wet to race levels.

The interior of this anniversary super sedan is race-car inspired with Jet Black Recaro sport seats. A performance data recorder system with Cosworth motorsports analysis software is also included. The CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition also boasts a panoramic sunroof, rearview mirror with camera, and a next-generation infotainment system. Luxury package components are standard, including a split-folding rear seat, heated rear seats, power rear and manual side sunshades, and a power outlet. Advanced driver-assistance systems include predictive navigation with available real-time traffic.

A special perk with one of the 115 copies includes accommodations and tuition to attend a 2-day Cadillac V-Performance Academy training session at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, outside of Las Vegas. All original buyers of ATS-V and CTS-V vehicles are eligible for this special class.
