BMW Inspires with Electric i Vision Dynamics Concept Car
BMW Group introduced its latest vision of electric mobility with a 4-door i Vision Dynamics Gran Coupe concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week. It’s just one of a possible 25 electrified vehicles that include 12 pure electric vehicles (EVs) that the German automaker plans to launch by 2025. The sleek, cool, and sophisticated BMW concept swoops ahead with an anticipated range of 373 miles (600 km) and expected acceleration from 0-62 mph in a mere 4 seconds. A production model is slated to be ready for sale by 2021, according to Automotive News.
BMW’s latest example of electric “sporting elegance” is the third model to help bolster the i electric sub-brand lineup. This i Vision Dynamics Gran Coupe envisions the future of electric mobility between the i3 hatchback city car and i8 plug-in hybrid sports car, according to BMW Group officials. The automaker says the BMW i Series is designed to inspire by combining electric mobility dynamism and elegance with a “less is more” design identity. Some auto enthusiast sites suggest that it is a sterling competitor for the Tesla Model 3.
The i Vision concept car features a long wheelbase, flowing roofline, and short overhangs with fluid surfaces. Glass and the main body are integrated for a smooth visual impression and spacious feeling. The down sweep of the car’s profile creates a fresh, sharp look with full-length glass windows that run from the windscreen to the rear window to offer good views for all passengers and driver, especially considering the future semi-autonomous shared driving experience. The rear end also has a witty note that is accented by eye-catching L-shaped taillights.
