2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Debuts in New York to Appeal to Millennials

By Philly Murtha, March 26, 2016
Mitsubishi previewed the new 2017 Mirage G4 sedan variant of its redone Mirage hatchback small car at the New York International Auto Show. The Mirage G4 sedan likely will appeal to Millennials with terrific fuel economy and low emissions, new connectivity, value pricing, and extensive warranties. The Mirage G4 will go on sale in the United States this spring.

Powered by the same 78-horsepower, 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine as its hatchback sibling and mated with a standard 5-speed manual or available CVT automatic transmission, the Mirage 4-door small car combines top fuel economy (the Mirage hatchback returns an EPA-estimated 35 mpg city/42 mpg highway) and low emissions.

Though official pricing has not been announced, the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 will be available at an attractive price point (the 2017 Mirage hatchback retails in the $13,000-$16,500 range) and comes with one of the industry’s best warranties, according to Mitsubishi. The new Mirage G4 comes with a 5-year/60,000-mile new-vehicle limited warranty, plus a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, 7-year/100,000-mile anti-corrosion perforation limited warranty, and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance.

A differentiator for this new small car model, according to Mitsubishi, is that the Mirage G4 gets a touch-screen infotainment system with available smartphone-integration support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Pricing and official EPA-estimated fuel-economy ratings will be revealed later.
