2015 Chevrolet Cruze Gets Minor Styling and Major Technology Enhancements

By Jeff Youngs, April 14, 2014
A revised 2015 Chevrolet Cruze debuts at the 2014 New York International Auto Show, equipped with subtle styling changes and significant technology upgrades.

Spotting the exterior updates might require a double take. The car's dual-port grille is restyled to better align the 2015 Chevy Cruze with the larger Malibu and Impala sedans, and the front bumper is also restyled for 2015. Cruze models wearing LT and LTZ trim designations also receive LED daytime running lights. Chevrolet says the styling changes apply to the LS, LT, LTZ, and RS versions of the 2015 Cruze, leaving the Cruze Eco and Cruze Diesel off of the list. Those more fuel-efficient versions are, however, confirmed to continue for 2015.

Additionally, the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze will be available in new exterior and interior colors, and the cabin gets new cup holders, door lock switches that are relocated from the center console to the front door panels, and a new trunk release for the center console.

The bigger news pertains to the 2015 Cruze models' new infotainment technology. The Chevrolet MyLink display screen now measures 7 in., and the system offers Siri Eyes Free operation, a Text Message Alert function, and OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with an available mobile Wi-Fi hotspot accessible by up to seven different devices. Plus, owners can access the new Chevrolet AppShop right from the screen, downloading and arranging the apps they want to use on a regular basis.

Chevrolet says the refreshed 2015 Cruze goes on sale in the fall of 2014.
