2014 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S Priced at $146,975

At the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Porsche introduced the new 2014 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S model, which becomes the most expensive version of the SUV at $146,975, including the $975 destination charge. Upgrades to create the new 2014 Cayenne Turbo S include a more powerful engine and improved driving dynamics, cosmetic enhancements, and more.

The new 2014 Cayenne Turbo S is equipped with 50 extra horsepower, for a total of 550 at 6,000 rpm from its twin-turbocharged, direct-injection, 4.8-liter V-8 engine. A maximum of 553 lb.-ft. of torque is available between 2,250 rpm and 4,500 rpm, and the Cayenne Turbo S is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission that feeds motive force to all four wheels through a standard Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel-drive system. Automatic stop/start technology shuts the engine off while idling in traffic or at intersections in an effort to conserve fuel, and Porsche says the new Cayenne Turbo S accelerates to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 175 mph.

Standard equipment also includes an air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) active anti-roll system, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), and a Sport Chrono package with analog and digital performance timers. A Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system is optional.

To ensure that the new Turbo S model is not confused with other Cayenne variants, Porsche equips it with high-gloss black air intakes and rearview mirror trim, dual twin-tube exhaust outlets, and 21-inch 911 Turbo II aluminum wheels with high-gloss black accents. Standard bi-xenon headlights include Porsche Dynamic Lighting System with dynamic cornering lights, as well as speed- and weather-sensitive headlight adjustment.

Inside, the new Cayenne Turbo S offers a choice between a two-tone Black/Luxor Beige or Black/Carrera Red treatment, combined with unique floor mats. The roof liner, pillar covers, and visors are wrapped in Alcantara, and the Cayenne Turbo S has standard carbon fiber trim as well as stainless steel doorsill plates. The Cayenne Turbo S is well equipped, with a Burmeister high-fidelity audio system one of the few options offered.

Porsche expects the 2014 Cayenne Turbo S to go on sale in the spring of 2013.
