2014 Acura RLX Prices Set in Advance of March 15 On-Sale Date

By Jeff Youngs, January 31, 2013
When the new 2014 Acura RLX goes on sale on March 15, 2013, it will carry a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) ranging between $48,450 for the base model and $60,450 for the RLX with the Advance package. Five models will be offered, with the RLX with Navigation ($50,950), RLX with Technology Package ($54,450), and RLX with Krell Audio Package ($56,950) filling out the lineup.

Acura's pricing strategy puts the 2014 RLX in direct competition with mid-luxury sedans from Audi, BMW, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz, as well as flagship models from Cadillac, Chrysler and Lincoln. Acura has designed the RLX to offer full-size interior accommodations in a midsize package.

"With an array of signature Acura technologies, the 2014 Acura RLX sets a new standard for luxury in the Acura lineup," said Jeff Conrad, vice president and general manager of Acura Sales. "The feature-rich RLX epitomizes Acura's 'Man-Machine Synergy' product direction, utilizing advanced technology and smart vehicle design to deliver incredible performance, comfort and value on a luxury scale."

At launch, the new Acura RLX will be offered with a 310-horsepower, direct-injection, 3.5-liter V-6 engine and front-wheel drive. Later in 2013, a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (Sport Hybrid SH-AWD) variant will arrive, equipped with a 370-horsepower gas-electric drivetrain estimated to provide 30 mpg in combined driving.

Highlights of the new 2014 Acura RLX include a new Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) system, Jewel Eye LED headlamp arrays, cloud-based AcuraLink technology, and new safety features, including lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, adaptive cruise control with Low Speed Follow, and a blind-spot information system.
