2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Celebrates 10 Years with Special Edition Model

By Jeff Youngs, November 28, 2012
The new 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary model is, according to Jeep, "the most capable factory-produced Jeep Wrangler ever, packed with equipment die-hard off-road enthusiasts love." Celebrating a decade of production of Wranglers named after what the company calls "one of the most grueling off-road trails in the world," the new Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary debuted this week at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show.

Offered as a 2-door Wrangler or 4-door Wrangler Unlimited, and built in limited quantities, the new Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary is offered in Billet Silver, White, or exclusive Anvil paint colors with a choice of a soft or hard top.

Functional upgrades include a half-inch increase in ride height and greater ground clearance, combined with unique 17-inch aluminum wheels wearing BF Goodrich KM2 265/70R17 off-road tires. Rock rails and taillight guards are also standard, and the black steel winch-capable front and rear bumpers feature red tow hooks. The end caps for the front bumper are removable, allowing this version of the Wrangler to "climb obstacles without hindrance, and reduce the damage potential to the bumper system," according to Jeep.

Cosmetically, the Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary model is distinguished by a dual-intake Power Dome hood that aids engine cooling, black fuel-filler door, and unique badges and decals.

Inside, this version of the Wrangler Rubicon is equipped with Anniversary Red leather seats, red stitching on the leather-wrapped steering wheel and center console, silver trim accents, unique gauges with an upgraded vehicle information center, and slush mats. Rubicon 10th Anniversary badges adorn the interior, and each version includes a plaque defining the Jeep's technical data.

Mike Manley, president and CEO--Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, called this limited-production Wrangler "a unique vehicle that we expect will long be sought after, a Wrangler that offers an unprecedented level of capability once only attainable by long hours of custom aftermarket preparation crafted in the garages of the most avid Jeep enthusiasts in the world."
