2013 Honda Civic Restyled One Year After Redesign

By Jeff Youngs, November 13, 2012
When the redesigned 2012 Honda Civic debuted, automotive critics expressed displeasure with many aspects of the model's design and engineering. Consumers, however, continued to buy the new Civic by the hundreds of thousands. Moreover, based on owner feedback, the 2012 Civic ranks high in the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Initial Quality StudySM (IQS).

Despite the sales success of the 2012 Civic, Honda elected to undertake a complete update of the popular compact car for the 2013 model year.

The 2013 styling is modified in the front and rear, adding redesigned bumpers, black honeycomb mesh grille and rear diffuser panel inserts, new front cornering lights and rear bumper reflectors, redesigned taillights, and additional chrome trim. The hood and trunk lid, as well as wheel choices, are also redesigned for the 2013 Civic.

In addition to a thorough refresh of the Civic's exterior styling, Honda promises "a host of safety, feature, comfort, chassis and interior styling enhancements that will further define the top-selling Civic as the best car in the compact class." For now, however, details on these aspects of the 2013 Civic remain a secret. The new Honda Civic will debut at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show on November 29.
