2013 BMW X1 Powder Ride Edition to Debut in Los Angeles

2013 BMW X1 Powder Ride Edition to Debut in Los Angeles

By Jeff Youngs, November 20, 2012
BMW will offer a new limited-production 2013 X1 Powder Ride Edition of its latest Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). A conceptual version of the new limited-edition X1 will be shown at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show as the BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride.

The BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride, painted Valencia Orange with matte black window surrounds and Ferric Gray lower body trim, is equipped with Ferric Gray 19-inch aluminum wheels with polished spokes, and the suspension gains additional travel for improved traction on treacherous terrain.

The Concept K2 Powder Ride has unique graphics and luggage boxes on the roof that are not expected for the 2013 X1 Powder Ride production model. The luggage box on the driver's side of the concept vehicle contains a Harman Kardon sound system with 2-way loudspeakers, turning the X1 into "a powerful sound stage for après ski fun with a difference at the end of the valley run." A microphone is "also on hand for those spontaneous parties in the snow."

The production 2013 BMW X1 Powder Ride Edition goes on sale in November 2012 with a starting price of $44,390.
