    This buyer’s guide highlights the top-rated 2016 trucks from the 2016 U.S. APEAL Study. Each model receives a Power Circle Rating of 4 or 5 out of a possible 5 for overall appeal.

    An optional turbocharged, diesel 4-cylinder engine joins the Colorado lineup for 2016, giving this truck a distinct towing advantage over its midsize competitors at 7,700 lbs. Gasoline 4-cylinder and V-6 engines continue, and the Colorado is offered in extended and crew cab styles with rear-wheel or 4-wheel drive. Work Truck (WT), LT, and Z71 trim levels are available.

Multiple cab style, box length, and rear-axle configurations are available, all with a choice between a gasoline V-8 engine and a turbocharged, diesel V-8 engine. Buyers choose between standard, SLE, SLT, and luxurious Denali trim levels, and a properly equipped Sierra HD can tow up to 23,200 lbs. and carry as much as 6,111 lbs. of payload.
