Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) StudySM measures customer satisfaction with the design, performance, layout, and feature content of new vehicles after 90 days of ownership. From this data, Power Circle Ratings are calculated to summarize the study’s findings, providing consumers with a visual representation of the information that can be used during the car shopping process.
This buyer’s guide highlights the top-rated 2016 luxury SUVs from the 2016 U.S. APEAL Study. Each model receives a Power Circle Rating of 5 out of a possible 5 for overall appeal.
2016 BMW X1
Larger and more efficient than it was before, the redesigned BMW X1 ranks highest in its segment for overall appeal in 2016. A turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is the only choice, paired with an automatic transmission and rear- or all-wheel drive. BMW says the X1 offers the most cargo space in its segment.
