New for 2018: Mitsubishi

Under new ownership by Nissan Motor, Mitsubishi is regrouping for 2018. The aged Lancer compact sedan and odd i-MiEV electric car are cancelled, leaving the Mirage hatchback and sedan, Outlander Sport, and the Outlander in the lineup. The big news for 2018 is that the plug-in hybrid version of the Outlander finally arrives, giving Mitsubishi an exclusive that is almost certain to be short-lived.

2018 Mitsubishi Mirage

  • Added standard equipment includes a 7-in. touch-screen infotainment system with a reversing camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and steering wheel audio controls
  • Mirage G4 sedans add a standard trunk pass-through, and 15-in. aluminum wheels are now part of the ES Smartphone package
  • Upgrade to the SE or GT trim level and the Mirage has a new driver’s seat armrest and USB port in the center console


2018 Mitsubishi Outlander

  • New plug-in hybrid powertrain debuts, combining a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, dual electric motors, all-wheel drive, regenerative braking, and DC fast-charging capability
  • Carries 5 people, tows up to 1,500 lbs.
  • EV, Series Hybrid, and Parallel Hybrid driving modes
  • Eco, Battery Save, and Battery Charge system settings
  • Recharging takes 8 hours using a standard 120-volt household outlet, and half that with a 240-volt home charging station
  • DC fast charging supplies an 80% charge in 25 minutes
  • A Wi-Fi EV Remote with a smartphone app allows remote control of certain vehicle functions
  • New paint color: Alloy Silver
  • Exclusive new paint color for PHEV: Ruby Black


2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

  • Styling updates include new front and rear bumper designs, and LED running lights
  • Interior improvements include a new shifter and center console design
  • New 7-in. touch-screen infotainment system debuts, equipping the SUV with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone-projection technology
  • Optional Touring package adds improved cabin isolation, panoramic sunroof, reversing camera, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights
  • New exterior color: Alloy Silver
