Mini 2017 Model Overview

For 2017, Mini redesigns the Countryman compact crossover SUV, making it the largest model the company has ever sold. Naturally, it comes in Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works (JCW) trim levels. Mini also applies the JCW performance treatment to the recently revamped Clubman model, while the funky Paceman is discontinued.

2017 Mini Cooper Convertible

  • New 18-in. Mini Yours Masterpiece aluminum wheel design


2017 Mini Cooper Hardtop

  • Standard Mini Connected infotainment system with 6.5-in. display, front center armrest
  • Base Cooper models no longer include Mini Driving Modes, which is now part of the Sport package
  • Mini Excitement lighting is now included in the Premium package
  • New Mini Seven Special Edition debuts with exclusive exterior and interior design upgrades
  • New 18-in. Mini Yours Masterpiece aluminum wheel design


2017 Mini Cooper Clubman

  • Performance-tuned John Cooper Works (JCW) variant joins the lineup, complete with body kit to improve engine and brake cooling
  • JCW equipped with turbocharged, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine making 228 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque, standard ALL4 all-wheel drive
  • JCW comes with 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission, accelerates to 60 mph in 6 seconds
  • JCW features Brembo performance brakes, sport suspension, 18-in. wheels, performance seats
  • Clubman Cooper and Clubman Cooper S offered with a new 18-in. Mini Yours Masterpiece aluminum wheel design


2017 Mini Cooper Countryman

  • Completely redesigned for 2017, now the largest Mini model ever sold
  • Cooper, Cooper S, John Cooper Works model series
  • Turbocharged 3-cylinder engine in Cooper
  • Turbocharged 4-cylinder engines for Cooper S and JCW
  • Manual or automatic transmission
  • Available ALL4 all-wheel-drive system
  • Cooper S E ALL4 variant arrives in summer 2017, a plug-in hybrid version of the new Countryman with an estimated 24 miles of electric driving range
  • Sliding 40/20/40 split-folding rear seat and an adjustable trunk floor add utility
  • Standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry with push-button engine starting, Mini Connected infotainment system with 6.5-in. display screen, reversing camera with rear park-assist sensors, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers
  • Optional 8.8-in. infotainment screen with navigation, Harman Kardon premium sound system, head-up display, numerous driver-assistance and collision-avoidance technologies
