New for 2016: Nissan Cars

Nissan has redesigned its flagship Maxima large sedan for 2016, which is good news since Maximas sold in 2015 really are 2014 models and sales have fallen as buyers anxiously await the new model. The best-seller in Nissan’s lineup, the Altima, and the compact Sentra also are refreshed for 2016. The new “V-Motion” grille with chrome trim will be a consistent design element on redone models. In addition, several sport trim levels are added to Nissan’s 2016 car lineup. Also, the automaker’s advanced safety and multimedia and connectivity technology systems are available across a wider range of model trim levels. Siri Eyes Free is also being introduced in the lineup for 2016.

Following is an overview of new or updated features for each 2016 Nissan car model:

2016 Nissan 370Z
  • 370Z Coupe and 370Z NISMO add optional Bose audio system
  • New Deep Blue Pearl exterior color (Midnight Blue no longer available)
  • Optional Bose audio system on the Sport and NISMO trim levels
  • 370Z, 370Z Sport, 370Z Sport Tech, and 370Z Touring trim levels offered
  • Significant refresh of Nissan 370Z NISMO in 2015 with new exterior design and redesigned aluminum alloy wheels
  • Refreshed with new fascia, deep low bumper, fenders, hood, prominent chrome-trimmed grille, and new lights
  • New interior with revised center stack with optional 5.0-in. or 7.0-in. displays for NissanConnect with mobile apps; nav. system also available
  • Reshaped seats with premium open-weave fabric
  • New Deep Blue Pearl exterior paint color
  • New sporty Altima SR trim level with blue sport interior accents on charcoal, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and paddle shifters
  • New optional safety features such as forward-collision warning system
  • Increased fuel economy—averaging 39 mpg for 2.5-liter engine
  • Trim levels feature a choice of 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engines that produce 182-horsepower; 3.5-liter V-6 generates 270 horsepower
  • Premium trim level equipped with new 20-spoke aluminum alloy wheels with black finish replace 10-spoke design
  • New 45th Anniversary Gold Limited Edition with special Silica Brass exterior paint, gold-tone VIN plate, and commemorative badging
  • New 30-kWh battery with improved and quicker charging that provides an EPA-rated 107-mi. driving range on a fully charged battery is standard on SV and SL trim levels
  • SV and SL trim levels add standard NissanConnect with navigation and mobile apps, 7.0-in. color display, voice recognition for navigation and audio, and HD Radio
  • Addition of standard NissanConnect with mobile apps and 5.0-in. color display for base “S” trim level
  • All-new eighth-generation redesign
  • Exterior shape is low and wide with powerful body sculpting, flared fenders, and available machine-finished 19-in. wheels
  • New 3.5-liter V-6 with 60% new parts generates 300 horsepower and 261 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated with Xtronic transmission with adaptive shift control and unique sport mode
  • S, SV, SL, SR, and Platinum trim levels
  • Comes standard with NissanConnect with Navigation and 8.0-in. color display with smartphone-like controls
  • SR trim level equipped with premium leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted inserts
  • Optional advanced safety systems, including forward-collision warning, blind-spot warning, and intelligent cruise control features
  • NissanConnect Services with automatic collision notification, remote start via smartphone, emergency call, and stolen-car locator feature
  • Optional Bose premium audio system with 11 speakers

2016 Nissan Sentra

  • Major refresh coming after full redesign for 2013
  • V-shaped grille and front and rear significantly redone
  • Scheduled to debut at 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show
  • Extensive refresh in 2015 that included new front and rear fascia, interior enhancements, and new packaging content
  • Two new exterior colors—Cayenne Red and Gun Metallic
  • Standard body-colored power outside mirrors on S, S Plus, SV, and SL trim levels
  • Standard rear speakers for Versa Sedan S
  • SL trim level adds leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Offered in five trim levels
  • New red and gray exterior paint colors
  • Convenience package (NissanConnect; mobile apps; 5.0-in. color display; streaming audio via Bluetooth, SiriusXM Satellite Radio; rearview backup camera; and height-adjustable cargo floor) is standard on the SV trim level
