2010 Infiniti G Sedan Anniversary EditionHistory
Infiniti is the luxury car division of Nissan Motor Co. Launched in 1990 to the North American market, the brand competes directly against Lexus-Toyota's luxury brand-as well as Acura, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and other luxury automakers. Infiniti originally offered just two models (both cars), but the lineup has grown to include coupes, sedans, convertibles, crossovers and full- SUVs over the past two decades. The brand has also expanded worldwide, with new markets in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Infiniti automobiles are manufactured in Japan.

Introduced for the 2008 model year, the Infiniti EX35 is a slightly smaller sibling to Infiniti's other crossover sport utility vehicles-the Infiniti FX35 and FX45 models. Unlike its siblings, the EX35 is offered with only one powerplant and without the Sport package. Competing against the BMW X3, Acura RDX and the Land Rover LR2, the Infiniti EX offers a long list of standard amenities and technology. The Infiniti EX35 is unchanged for 2011.

Infiniti launched the first-generation FX in 2003 with the introduction of the 8-cylinder FX45 and 6-cylinder FX35. The 4-door entered an SUV segment crowded with traditional boxy truck-like offerings, yet it looked more like an auto show concept than a production vehicle.

Under the skin, it shared Nissan's FM ("Front Midship") platform with the G35 sedan and coupe, giving it sports-car like handling. In 2006, the FX received a significant facelift on both the interior and exterior. An all-new, second-generation Infiniti FX debuted at the Geneva Motor Show for the 2009 model year.
