2010 Volkswagen JettaCritical Knowledge:

2010 New Beetle: The instantly-recognizable retro-styled coupe and convertible welcome "Final Edition" models for its final model year. Also, there are several new colors, and drop-top models receive a standard convertible boot cover.

2010 CC: The 4-door coupe receives a dual-clutch DSG transmission in place of the standard automatic. Also, Bluetooth phone connectivity is now standard on all models, as is a new touch-screen radio.

2010 Eos: The hardtop convertible is enhanced with a new touch-screen radio, standard Bluetooth phone connectivity, and new cosmetic touches on the exterior and interior.

2010 Jetta: The wagon variant boasts new front sheetmetal (borrowed from the next-gen Golf) while the sedan awaits its all-new replacement next year. Bluetooth phone connectivity is now standard on all models, as is a new touch-screen radio.

2010 Passat: Set for replacement in 2011 with an all-new model, the family sedan receives a new touch-screen radio, standard Bluetooth phone connectivity, and a dual-clutch DSG transmission in place of the standard automatic.

2010 Routan: The 7-passenger minivan receives standard 3-zone climate control, standard Bluetooth phone connectivity, new color choices, and other equipment upgrades.

2010 Tiguan: This compact SUV rolls into 2010 with a new instrument cluster, Bluetooth phone connectivity on most models, and a new touch-screen radio.

2010 Touareg: Due for replacement in 2011, the SUV loses its V-8 engine option and air suspension, but gains standard Bluetooth phone connectivity and more equipment in the optional packages.

2010 Volkswagen New Beetle
With a replacement just around the corner, the production run of the New Beetle ends in 2010. Commemorating the event, Volkswagen has introduced 2010 "Final Edition" models with unique colors, upholstery and badging.
  • New "Final Edition" models with unique colors and interior upholstery
  • New exterior color: Tossau Blau
  • New interior color: White V-Tex now available with Salsa Red, Black or Tossau Blau exterior
  • Heaven Blue and Candy White exterior colors are now available with Cream or Black upholstery
  • Convertible boot covers are standard
  • White convertibles receive white boot covers; Cream or Black convertible top will receive black boot cover

2010 Volkswagen CC
Volkswagen swaps out the traditional automatic transmission and replaces it with a DSG "dual-clutch" transmission in the standard 4-cylinder model. Other models, including the flagship 6-cylinder CC, receive minor equipment updates for the 2010 model year.
  • DSG "dual-clutch" transmission replaces automatic transmission on 2.0T models
  • New interior wood trim on VR6 and VR6 4Motion models
  • Heated outside mirrors eliminated on 2.0T Sport model

2010 Volkswagen Eos
The 4-seat hardtop convertible coupe receives only minor cosmetic changes for 2010. These include an upgraded steering wheel and instrument cluster, new audio features, and standard Bluetooth phone connectivity.
  • New chrome louvers on grille for Lux models
  • Optional 18-inch wheels and sport suspension on Lux models
  • Premium VIII "touchscreen" radio replaces Premium VII radio
  • Standard Bluetooth phone connectivity
  • New leather-wrapped steering wheel and instrument cluster
  • Media Device Interface (MDI) with iPod cable is now a stand-alone option

2010 Volkswagen Jetta
The final year of this Jetta body style sees the disappearance of the performance-oriented Jetta GLI sedan, but the rest of the lineup soldiers forward with new standard audio and Bluetooth phone connectivity. Interestingly enough, the Jetta SportWagen wears the sheetmetal-and dashboard-of its successor.
  • Jetta SportWagen gets restyled front end from new Golf
  • Jetta GLI model discontinued
  • New exterior color: White Gold
  • New interior color: Titan Black
  • New 16-inch steel wheels on S sedan
  • New instrument cluster, interior trim, seat, steering wheel and climate controls for the wagon
  • Bluetooth phone connectivity is now standard except on S models
  • iPod adapter is now available
  • Premium VIII "touchscreen" radio replaces Premium VII radio on SE, SEL and TDI models

2010 Volkswagen Passat
Scheduled for replacement by an all-new sedan in early 2010, this is the last year of the Passat in its current form. Stripped of the 6-cylinder engine option and many of its luxury appointments when the CC arrived, the Passat receives the DSG "dual-clutch" transmission, new wheels and electronic upgrades for 2010.

  • Deleted exterior color: Cobalt Blue
  • New, standard 17-inch alloy wheels
  • 18-inch alloy wheels and sport suspension are optional
  • Premium VIII "touchscreen" radio replaces Premium VII radio

  • New leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel
  • Fog lamps are now standard on the wagon
  • Rear and side sunshades have been eliminated
  • Media Device Interface (MDI) with iPod cable is now a stand-alone option

2010 Volkswagen Routan
Sharing platforms and powertrains with the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan, the Volkswagen Routan features a unique interior and special suspension tuning for a more "European" driving experience. With the exception of a few minor option changes, it is mostly a carryover for 2010.
  • New exterior colors: Cocoa Bean, Meteor Gray and Tanzanite
  • Deleted exterior colors: Atlantis Blue and Blonde Maple
  • Three-zone climate control is now standard
  • Rear-seat entertainment (RSE) is no longer available (S models)
  • V-Tex seating upholstery, heated front seats, adjustable pedals, and Bluetooth are now standard on SE models
  • Sunroof, Towing Prep, fog lights, remote start and a power-operated third-row seat are now standard on SEL models
  • Clock and temperature displays are now white (instead of blue)
  • Engine block heater is a new option

2010 Volkswagen Tiguan
The Golf-based Tiguan, the small turbocharged SUV in the Volkswagen lineup, receives a new touch-screen radio and minor equipment changes for 2010.
  • New instrument cluster
  • Premium VIII "touchscreen" radio replaces Premium VII radio
  • Standard Bluetooth phone connectivity on SE and SEL models
  • Media Device Interface (MDI) with iPod cable is only available with the Navigation package

2010 Volkswagen Touareg 2
With a replacement model just on the other side of the hill, the Touareg SUV is stripped of the V-8 engine, air suspension and rear locking differential options. The surviving 6-cylinder gasoline and diesel models receive new standard equipment and electronics to hold them over.
  • There are two remaining Touareg models: Touareg VR6 FSI and Touareg TDI
  • V-8 FSI engine eliminated
  • Bluetooth is now standard
  • "Walnut" wood trim is now standard
  • Luxury package now includes "Vavona" wood interior trim, heated steering wheel and 19-inch alloy wheels
  • Technology package now includes bi-Xenon headlamps with Automatic Front Light System (AFS), keyless entry and keyless start/stop
  • Premium Technology package now includes Dynaudio premium sound system
  • Four-corner air suspension deleted
  • Safety package deleted
  • Rear differential lock deleted
  • Media Device Interface (MDI) with iPod cable only available in Navigation package
  • Standard 280-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 gasoline powerplant (VR6 FSI model)
  • Standard 225-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6 diesel powerplant (TDI model)
