2010 GMC TerrainCritical Knowledge:
  • 2010 Acadia: For 2010, the Acadia crossover adds available 20-inch chrome wheels, a USB interface for premium radios, OnStar 8.2 and new exterior and interior colors. Additionally, XM NavTraffic is included with the navigation radio.

  • 2010 Canyon: Changes to the 2010 Canyon pickup include standard head curtain side air bags on all models, three new exterior colors and increased availability of the ZQ8 Sport Suspension package across more models.

  • 2010 Savana/Savana Cargo: The GMC Savana line of full-size vans carries over without significant change for 2010, but does add available remote vehicle start, flex-fuel capability and variable valve timing on all non-diesel engines, and a beefed-up transmission for Savana 2500 and 3500 models.

  • 2010 Sierra 1500: For 2010, all light-duty Sierra models come with curtain and seat-mounted side air bags, flex-fuel capability is added to all non-diesel V-8 engines, regular and extended cab models with the 5.3-liter V-8 engine get a 6-speed automatic transmission, and all 5.3-liter-equipped models feature a standard 3.08 axle ratio, among other enhancements.

  • 2010 Sierra HD: Changes for the 2010 Sierra HD are minor. They include a pair of new exterior colors, OnStar 8.2 and the inclusion of a USB port on all but the base radio.

  • 2010 Terrain: GMC's all-new 2010 Terrain is a 5-passenger crossover SUV that blends bold styling with fuel efficiency and premium features, including available all-wheel drive (AWD). The base engine is a new, direct-injected 2.4-liter 4-cylinder; optional is a 3.0-liter V-6, also with direct injection. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

  • 2010 Yukon/Yukon XL: Mechanical updates for the 2010 Yukon and Yukon XL include variable valve timing and flex-fuel capability on the 5.3-liter V-8 engine, fuel-saving cylinder deactivation on Denali models, and a change to a single-speed transfer case on 4WD models. Furthermore, exterior and interior packages are revised and all radios are now fitted with a USB port.

The GMC Savana line of full-size passenger and cargo vans carries over for 2010 with few changes. The improvements include flex-fuel capability for all non-diesel engines (variable valve timing is added as well) and a heavier-duty 6-speed automatic transmission for Savana HD models.

For 2010, all non-diesel V-8 engines offer flex-fuel capability, while the 4.8- and 5.3-liter engines now feature variable valve timing. A 6-speed automatic transmission is added to regular and extended cab models fitted with the 5.3-liter V-8 (previously it was offered only on crew cab models), and all 5.3-liter-equipped models feature a standard 3.08 axle ratio for enhanced fuel economy. The latest crossover SUV from GMC, the new Terrain is smaller than the midsize Acadia. According to GMC, in addition to having a distinctive look, the new Terrain features a comprehensive package of premium features with an emphasis on vehicle safety and passenger comfort.
