2009 Lexus ES:
One of the original Lexus models, the ES entered its fifth generation for the 2007 model year with the launch of the ES 350. The so-called entry-luxury car takes its numbers from the 3.5-liter displacement of its V-6 engine, which pumps out 272 hp. The ES 350 carries over unchanged into the 2009 model year.

2009 Lexus GS:
For the 2009 model year, Lexus GS models get acoustic glass for their windshields. The GS is Lexus' sporty performance sedan and is available in three flavors: GS 350, with a 303-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine; GS 460, with a 342-hp, 4.6-liter V-8 engine; and GS 450h, a gas/electric hybrid in which the electric motors actually boost the power output, joining a 3.5-liter V-6 engine to provide the equivalent of 340 hp and the quickest acceleration of any of the GS models.

2009 Lexus GX:
Lexus launched the GX as its third SUV in 2002. Slotting in size between the car-based RX and truck-based LX, the GX 470 provides three rows of seats and was the first Lexus model equipped with Kinetic Dynamic Suspension, a computer-controlled setup designed to enhance both on- and off-road dynamic response. Power comes from a 4.7-liter V-8 engine that pumps out 363 hp. The 2009 model is virtually unchanged from the 2008 offering.

2009 Lexus IS:
Lexus first offered its IS model for 2001. With its sportier design and dynamics and lower price point, the new model brought a younger customer into the Lexus showroom. The car entered its second generation for the 2006 model year. In 2008 the lineup expanded with a 400-hp, high-performance V-8 engine version, the IS F. For 2009, the IS 250 and IS 350 get new bumpers, grille, tail lamps and wheels, as well as two new colors (Amber Pearl and Truffle Mica). Inside, the instrument panel, switchgear and some trim are revised. Suspension and steering gear also have been retuned and paddle shifting is offered. The IS 250 also gets enhanced vehicle dynamic control technology. Meanwhile, the IS F interior is updated with features such as 2-tone seating.

2009 Lexus LS:
When Lexus launched as Toyota's luxury brand, its flagship was the LS 400. That model has evolved and been enhanced to the point that it can even back itself into a parallel parking space. The luxurious and large Lexus sedan comes in three versions: the LS 460 with 380-hp, 4.6-liter V-8 engine; the even larger LS 460L with the same engine but with nearly 4 more inches of overall length and thus more room for those sitting in the back seat; and top-of-the-line LS 600hL, which combines the long sedan with a gasoline/electric hybrid powertrain that features a 5.0-liter V-8 engine. For 2009, all LS models get memory controls for the front passenger's seat.

2009 Lexus LX:
Lexus launched its first SUV, the LX, in 1996. An all-new LX was introduced in 2002. For 2008, the SUV entered its third generation as the LX 570, with a new design inside and out and a 383-hp, 5.7-liter V-8 engine. This full-size sport ute shares its foundation with the venerable Toyota Land Cruiser. For 2009, the LX 570 is available in a new color-Costa Azul Mica-and offers a revised Luxury package with new leather interior, special wood trim, a built-in "cool" box, Smart Card key and 20-inch wheels. Also available is a Luxury Package+ with pre-collision warning system and dynamic radar cruise control.

2009 Lexus RX:
The RX is Lexus' original crossover utility vehicle and its luxury features and visual appeal helped popularize the genre. The RX is available with a 270-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine or a gas/electric hybrid system that includes a battery pack and 3.3-liter V-6 engine. For 2009, the RX 400h carries over while the RX 350 will be available with several new paint colors: Classic Silver Metallic, Smoky Granite Mica, Obsidian, Golden Almond Metallic and Matador Red Mica.

2009 Lexus SC:
The SC 430 is Lexus' luxury sports coup_/convertible. At the touch of a switch, the top folds itself to store beneath the trunk, providing the driver with an open-air experience. Power for the car and the top comes from a 288-hp, 4.3-liter V-8 engine. For the 2009 model year, the SC 430 gets exterior rear-view mirrors with integrated turn signals, a new switch to activate the top, new Opaline Pearl paint color and a Pebble Beach Special Edition with Mercury Metallic exterior paint, Ecru seats trimmed in black, black bird's-eye maple trim, illuminated scuff plates, special wheels and other features. Only 300 of the special edition versions will be built.
