2009 Chevrolet Avalanche
For 2009, the Chevrolet Avalanche-classified as a combination SUV/truck on account of its midgate-is available in LS, LT and LTZ models in 2-wheel drive (2WD) and 4-wheel drive (4WD). It gets a new standard 6-speed automatic transmission across the board, as well as a fuel-saving 3.08 axle ratio as base axle for 2WD models. Other changes include OnStar 8.0; Bluetooth connectivity; XM satellite radio with NavTraffic; new "Razor" LED design in the outside mirror glass; integrated brake controller; heavy-duty trailering package; and new 20-inch chrome-clad wheels on the LTZ. New exterior colors include White Diamond Tricoat (LTZ), Inferno Orange replacing Sunburst Orange, and Dark Brahma Jewel available later in the model year in limited quantity. There are also new standard features for LTZ, including heated/cooled 12-way power memory seats; perforated leather-trimmed seats; Bose surround speaker system; new body-side moldings with chrome accent strip; new rear fascia with chrome accent strip and trailer hitch cover; and new sill plates featuring an embossed "Chevrolet" logo. Standard powerplant on 2WD models is a 320-hp, iron-block, Vortec 5.3-liter V-8 engine with Active Fuel Management (GM's designation for cylinder deactivation technology). On 4WD models, it's a 310-hp, 5.3-liter, aluminum-block V-8 engine at the start of the model year, followed by a change to a 320-hp, 5.3-liter, iron-block V-8 engine with Active Fuel Management and FlexFuel capability (able to operate on E85, gasoline, or any combination of the two).


2009 Chevrolet Colorado
The midsize Chevrolet Colorado pickup, with seating for 6, is available in regular cab, extended cab and crew cab configurations, 2WD and 4WD, in WT, LT and LTZ trims for 2009. It adds performance enhancements, including a new, optional, 300-hp, 5.3-liter V-8 engine (available on extended cab and crew cab). All Colorado models get a new brake system with 4-channel ABS. The ZQ8 sport suspension and appearance package also returns to the Colorado lineup for 2009, featuring revised tuning, all-new 18-inch Xtreme aluminum wheels, performance tires and the new 5.3-liter V-8 engine as standard equipment. Other Colorado changes include electronic stability control and XM satellite radio standard on all models, a new family of 16-, 17-, and 18-inch wheels, exterior revisions, and two new exterior colors: Deep Navy and Aqua Blue Metallic.


2009 Chevrolet Equinox
Chevy's compact, 5-passenger crossover vehicle returns in 2009 with few changes. The lineup includes LS, LT, LTZ and Sport models, each with available all-wheel drive (AWD). Changes for 2009 include standard head curtain side-impact air bags with rollover protection sensors and XM satellite radio. Bluetooth connectivity is available with the OnStar system. Three new exterior colors are added: Silver Ice Metallic, Gold Mist Metallic, and Cyber Gray Metallic (replacing Sandstone, Granite Gray and Silverstone Metallics). The Equinox Sport gets its power from a 264-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 engine with VVT, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Equinox Sport features specific body-color front and rear fascias; body-color grille cross bar; 18-inch flangeless, high-polished, forged aluminum 5-spoke wheels; and standard all-Ebony interior trim and appointments.


2009 Chevrolet Express
Chevrolet's people-hauler (carrying up to 15), the Express full-size van, freshened in 2008, returns in 2009 with enhanced safety features, 17-inch wheels, increased gross vehicle weight rating to 7300 pounds in certain models with 5.3-liter V-8 engine, as well as a more powerful, 125-amp alternator standard on half-ton models with the 5.3-liter engine. An engine oil cooler is standard on models with the 4.3-liter V-6 engine. Other changes include a transmission oil cooler (on gross combined weight rating, or GCWR, applications greater than 7 tons), and a fast-idle option available on models with the 6.0-liter V-8 engine.


2009 Chevrolet HHR
In its fourth year of production, the retro-styled Chevy HHR sport utility vehicle adds a new, limited-edition HHR Panel SS, a new SS Performance package with Brembo 4-piston front brake calipers and limited-slip differential, variable valve timing added to the standard 155-hp 2.2-liter engine, and E85 FlexFuel capability for the 2.2-liter and 172-hp 2.4-liter engine. In addition, Bluetooth connectivity, interior revisions, XM satellite radio, electronic stability control, traction control, tire-pressure monitor, and 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS and OnStar are all standard; options include a rear backup camera, driver/passenger performance seats and a stripe package. Also new for 2009, side curtain air bags are standard on all models. HHR is available in LS, LT and SS, and HHR Panel LS, LT and SS models, with a number of available packages. Three new metallic exterior paint colors are added: Silver Ice, Gold Mist and Aqua Blue.


2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
The full-size Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup for 2009 receives enhanced fuel economy with a new 6-speed automatic transmission paired with V-8 engines. Also new is a 6.2-liter V-8 engine with VVT and E85 capability, offered on crew cab models. Other new-for-2009 features include XM satellite radio standard on all models, interior gauge cluster, seat revisions, available integrated trailer brake controller, OnStar with new Destination Download feature and Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity, and new-design 18- and 20-inch wheels. Two new exterior colors are added: Dark Cherry Metallic and Deep Ruby Metallic. Seven engine choices range from a 195-hp 4.3-liter V-6 to a 367-hp, 6.0-liter aluminum-block V-8 with VVT and Active Fuel Management. Electronic stability control with rollover mitigation and roof-mounted, rollover-capable head curtain side air bags are standard. Available remote vehicle start, a revised, easier-to-use tire-pressure monitor, rear parking assist, and Autotrac active transfer case are also offered for 2009.

Offered in crew cab body style in both 2WD and 4WD models, the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid delivers 25-percent improved overall fuel economy and 40-percent greater city fuel economy. It's a full-size truck that uses the GM patented 2-mode hybrid system and 332-hp, 6.0-liter, V-8 gasoline engine with Active Fuel Management, paired with GM's advanced Electrically Variable Transmission (EVT) and 300-volt nickel-metal hydride Energy Storage System (ESS)-and still has a 6100-pound towing capacity. New for 2009 is a new exhaust system and resonator, additional engine intake induction tuning, and low-rolling-resistance tires. The Silverado Hybrid in all-electric drive can go up to 30 mph, even when towing a trailer. Standard equipment includes electronic stability control, locking rear axle and trailering package, dual-stage frontal air bags and head curtain side air bags.


2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD
Chevrolet's heavy-duty truck models-the three-quarter-ton Silverado 2500HD and one-ton 3500HD-add safety and convenience features in 2009, including OnStar with a new Destination Download feature, Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity, and XM satellite radio with NavTraffic real-time traffic advising. A new rearview camera is available in extended and crew cab models, and a vehicle stability enhancement system is standard on 2500HD models with single rear wheels.


2009 Chevrolet Suburban
For 2009, the full-size Chevrolet Suburban SUV receives a new 6-speed automatic transmission as standard (on 1500 models). Also new for 2009 are Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity with specific steering wheel-mounted controls, available rear camera system, new 20-inch chrome-clad wheels (available on LTZ models), OnStar 8.0, XM satellite radio with NavTraffic, LTZ enhancements, optional side blind-zone alert, and two rearview camera options. An integrated brake controller, heavy-duty trailering package, new luxury package for 2LT models, Z71 exterior changes and optional third-row DVD entertainment system are other changes. All Suburban 1500 models have the new, fuel-saving 6-speed automatic transmission. Suburban 2500 models are powered by a 352-hp, 6.0-liter V-8 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission. New 20-inch chrome-clad wheels are optional on LTZ, which also gets a number of enhancements. A new luxury package is optional on 2LT models. New exterior colors are White Diamond Tricoat and Red Jewel Tintcoat (available on LTZ).


2009 Chevrolet Tahoe
For 2009, the full-size Chevrolet Tahoe SUV gets a new 6-speed automatic transmission and 6.2-liter V-8 engine; new 20-inch chrome-clad wheels on LTZ; OnStar 8.0; Bluetooth connectivity; XM satellite radio with NavTraffic; LTZ enhancements; side blind-zone alert (optional on LTZ); two rearview camera options; new fabric for cloth seat trim; new luxury package on 2LT models; integrated brake controller; heavy-duty trailering package; and fuel-saving, 3.08 axle ratio for 2WD models with the 5.3-liter V-8 engine. New exterior colors optional on LTZ models are White Diamond Tricoat and Red Jewel Tintcoat.

With its 50-percent improved city fuel mileage (2WD models), the 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid adds new features, including OnStar 8.0 with stolen vehicle slow-down, turn-by-turn navigation and destination download, Bluetooth connectivity, XM satellite radio with real-time NavTraffic, power-adjustable pedals, and a new exterior color: Blue Granite Metallic. The Tahoe Hybrid features GM's patented 2-mode system which pairs a 332-hp, Vortec 6.0-liter engine with Active Fuel Management with the company's Electrically Variable Transmission (EVT), and energy storage system (ESS). The hybrid system also uses regenerative braking in concert with the vehicle's 4-wheel disc, 4-wheel ABS hydraulic braking system. The 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid also features a navigation system with Hybrid powerflow diagram. An aerodynamically-enhanced exterior includes a new rear fascia, rear spoiler and D-pillar appliqu_s, lightweight aluminum wheels, and low-rolling-resistance tires. The Tahoe Hybrid is available in 2WD and 4WD models, with usable towing capacity of 6200 and 6000 pounds, respectively.


2009 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
The midsize 2009 Chevrolet TrailBlazer lineup is headed by the performance-oriented TrailBlazer SS model. TrailBlazer SS is powered by a 390-hp, 6.0-liter V-8 engine and mated with a heavy-duty 4-speed automatic. The SS also has unique exterior styling with 20-inch flangeless wheels, and specific interior, including driver-oriented cockpit with SS-signature instrument cluster, SS-specific embroidered seat backs and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Performance-style front bucket seats are standard, as well as leather seating. Also new on all TrailBlazer models for 2009 are Bluetooth phone connectivity for hands-free calls and three new exterior colors: Silver Ice Metallic, Silver Moss Metallic and Sand Beige Metallic.


2009 Chevrolet Traverse
All new for 2009, the Chevrolet Traverse crossover, with seating for up to 8 and styling cues inspired by the 2008 Chevy Malibu, features a new, powerful, fuel-efficient, 288-hp 3.6-liter engine with direct-injection technology, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Both FWD and Intelligent AWD models are available.

The 2009 Traverse features OnStar 8.0 with turn-by-turn navigation and destination download; XM satellite radio with available NavTraffic; Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity; six standard air bags (including side curtain air bags for all three seating rows); rear-seat entertainment system with second-row controls; second-row Smart Slide seat feature (for easy 3rd-row access); and a family of 17-, 18- and 20-inch wheels. Electronic stability control; traction control; tire-pressure monitor; 4-wheel independent suspension; dynamic rear proportioning; hydraulic brake boost; panic brake assist; and 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS are all standard. In addition, Traverse's upscale design includes deep-set grille inserts with chrome-ringed trim; turn signals integrated in the outside mirrors; rear spoiler integrated over the liftgate window; roof rails; dual bright exhaust outlets; and a panoramic, power-operated sunroof.

The 2009 Traverse features an interior configurable for seven or eight adults (including two front bucket seats). Perforated leather seats, as well as second-row captain's chairs, are available. Standard or available features include rear parking assist, rearview camera, extended-range remote vehicle start, heated/cooled front seats, and heated windshield fluid.
