Luxury is just as often about simplicity as it is complexity, and when it comes to owning a luxury car priced over $60,000, a reliable vehicle can help to simplify its owner’s life. In order to determine which luxury cars are likely to prove most dependable over time, J.D. Power derives predicted reliability Power Circle Ratings from the data it collects from thousands of verified new- and used-car owners as part of the annual Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and Initial Quality Study (IQS).
Listed in alphabetical order on the pages that follow are the top-rated luxury sedans priced over $60,000 in terms of predicted reliability, according to J.D. Power. Note that the ratings reflect each model’s expected performance when measured against other models in the same market segment, and are not intended for cross-comparison between different segments.
2016 Audi A7
Based on the same platform and powertrains as the Audi A6 sedan, the A7 is a sleek luxury sports car with liftback access to the cargo space. A supercharged 6-cylinder engine provides power for the A7, while turbocharged V-8 engines equip the S7 and RS 7 variants with extra performance. All three versions include standard Quattro all-wheel drive.

2016 Lexus LS
Dating to the 2007 model year, the current Lexus LS is a decade old and due for replacement. Nevertheless, if a reliable flagship luxury sedan is what you seek, you can expect the LS to deliver. Choices include regular- and extended-length wheelbases with a V-8 engine and rear- or all-wheel drive. A high-powered gas-electric hybrid drivetrain is also available, while the F Sport version aims to inject excitement into the car’s dynamics.

2016 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class

2016 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

2016 Porsche Panamera
