Most Reliable 2013 Luxury SUVs and Crossovers

By Christian Wardlaw, July 18, 2013
Every year, J.D. Power surveys thousands of new- and used-vehicle owners to find out what they like and don't like about their vehicles, and to learn what has gone right and gone wrong during ownership. This feedback is compiled into key industry research studies and used by automakers to improve their products. Derivations of the data also allow J.D. Power to determine which makes and models are likely to prove reliable in the years to come. This buyer's guide lists, in alphabetical order, those luxury SUVs and crossovers that are likely to deliver dependability over time, according to J.D. Power data.

2013 Acura ZDX
Rakishly styled and based on the Acura MDX platform, the ZDX crossover enters its final year of production with new standard safety features and minor revisions to its appearance.

2013 Cadillac Escalade
A full-size, traditional SUV equipped with a 403-horsepower V-8 engine and designed to tow and haul large amounts of weight, the 2013 Escalade is offered in five new colors this year.

2013 Infiniti FX
Infiniti offers the FX luxury sport crossover with a V-6 or a V-8 engine and rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. This year, the V-6 engine is larger and more powerful, and new Moving Object Detection technology is optional. Next year, this model will be renamed as the Infiniti QX70.

2013 Lexus GX
Built on the rugged Toyota 4Runner's platform, the Lexus GX 460 is a serious off-roader with a V-8 engine and 7-passenger seating capacity.

2013 Lexus RX
The popular Lexus RX luxury crossover SUV receives new styling for 2013, new paint colors, and additional standard equipment. A new F Sport package is intended to make the RX 350 more fun to drive, while a standard Sport mode makes the RX 450h gas-electric hybrid model more responsive, Lexus says.

2013 Mercedes-Benz G-Class
Affectionately known as the G-Wagen, the Mercedes G-Class, which is based on a former German military vehicle, gets revised styling, a new interior, new technology, and new engines for 2013.

2013 Porsche Cayenne
Though designed to deliver exceptional performance on pavement, the Porsche Cayenne is also adept at dealing with dirt. For 2013, three new variants debut: Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne GTS, and Cayenne Turbo. Buyers can also take advantage of a new European delivery program.

2013 Toyota Land Cruiser
Essentially a Lexus LX470 wearing Toyota badges, the iconic Land Cruiser receives styling updates as well as the same comfort, content, and powertrain upgrades as the Lexus. Also, starting in 2013, everything is standard. There are no options offered for the Land Cruiser.
