5 Fast Facts: 2016 Lincoln MKC

By Philly Murtha, April 21, 2016
Lincoln introduced the MKC compact premium crossover SUV in 2015. Based on the same architecture as the Ford Escape, the 5-seat 2016 Lincoln MKC doesn’t change much this year, but receives Ford’s next-generation Sync 3 infotainment system and comes in some new exterior colors with a new interior treatment option. All 2016 MKCs are equipped with a rearview camera, and more high-tech safety systems are available this year.

If you’re considering a new luxury crossover SUV, here are five fast facts about the 2016 Lincoln MKC:

1) The 2016 MKC is powered by one of two turbocharged 4-cylinder engines. The MKC comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder used in the Escape, which produces 240 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. A 2.3-liter turbocharged engine, also used in the Ford Mustang, is optional, but standard on all-wheel-drive MKCs. It generates 285 horsepower and 305 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines are mated with a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
2) Three trim levels are offered for the 2016 MKC: Premiere, Select, and Reserve. The entry-level Premiere comes feature-rich, while the Select adds 10-way power front seats, power liftgate, leather-trimmed seats, and leather-wrapped steering wheel, among amenities. Reserve trim comes with fancier 10-way power, heated/cooled front seats; panoramic glass roof with power shade; voice-activated navigation; and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, among features.
3) A Climate package is available with heated steering wheel and heated rear seats, auto high-beam headlights, and windshield wiper de-icer. Lincoln also offers a Class Two Trailer package with the capability to tow 3,000 lbs. Two advanced driver-assistance packages include a blind-spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, and lane-keeping assist technologies.
4) New treatments for 2016 include a White Sands/Espresso interior available on the Select trim level.
5) Three new paint colors are: Black Velvet, Luxe Metallic, and Burgundy Velvet Metallic Tinted Clear Coat. A number of wheel design styles and sizes also can be selected.
