5 Fast Facts: 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

By Philly Murtha, September 01, 2016
Land Rover’s smallest premium SUV, the Range Rover Evoque, offers contemporary luxury and style that can be personalized as a 2-door or 5-door model (a soft-top or convertible variant joined the lineup for the 2017 model year). The 5-seat 2016 Evoque comes with lots of technology, including the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system.

Five fast facts about the 2016 Land Rover Evoque are listed for shopping research:

1) The Range Rover Evoque comes in Active Driveline 4-wheel drive (4WD) that switches to 2-wheel drive (2WD) above 22 mph. Trim levels include SE, SE Premium, HSE, HSE Dynamic, and the high-end Autobiography trim for the 5-door model. SE trim is available for the 2-door variant and SE and HSE Dynamic trims apply to the new convertible variant.

2) Since it’s a Land Rover, the Evoque includes a Terrain Response System for road conditions ranging from snow to gravel or mud. Hill-start assist along with Terrain Progress Control also helps the SUV to navigate through tough areas. The Evoque also includes adaptive dynamics and torque vectoring by braking for tight handling and ride control, according to Land Rover.

3) All 2016 Range Rover Evoque SUVs are powered by an aluminum, 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that is partnered with a fuel-efficient 9-speed automatic transmission to produce 240 horsepower and 251 lb.-ft. of torque. The EPA estimates that the 2016 Evoque averages 21 mpg in city driving and 30 mpg on the highway.

4) The interior can be described as luxurious simplicity with less roomy rear seating. Oxford leather seats and steering wheel are available with brushed aluminum trim as is a Meridian 17-speaker surround-sound audio system. A power hands-free tailgate and HomeLink system to connect with garage doors, gates, and lighting are extras. Interior mood lighting and a climate control system that checks humidity, smog levels, and extreme weather are options.

5) Standard driver-assistance systems on the Evoque include park-assist sensors and a rearview camera. A surround camera system, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist with a monitor for the driver’s condition, adaptive cruise control, and traffic sign recognition are also standard or available, depending on trim.
