2016 Vehicle Dependability Study: Coupes and Convertibles

By Christian Wardlaw, February 24, 2016
To measure long-term vehicle reliability by identifying the things that have gone right and the things that have gone wrong with new vehicles during the third year of ownership, J.D. Power annually surveys original owners of 3-year-old vehicles. The findings are then reported in the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability StudySM (VDS), which measures design- and defect-related problems with vehicles as reported by their owners.

Based on this information, J.D. Power formulates and publishes Power Circle Ratings, designed to provide an easily understood visual representation of a vehicle’s performance relative to its competitors. Consumers can reference these ratings while researching a vehicle purchase.

This buyer’s guide highlights the top-rated 2013 coupe and convertible models that receive a Power Circle Rating of 5 out of a possible 5 for vehicle dependability after three years of ownership.
