The 2012 Volkswagen Eos is a 5-passenger convertible with a retractable hardtop that features an integrated sunroof. When stowed, the retractable roof reduces trunk space from 9.3 cubic feet to 5.4 cubic feet. The Eos is available in three trim levels. Standard are 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, heated mirrors, windshield washer nozzles, and a wind deflector.

Interior Features
Standard equipment on the Volkswagen Eos includes cruise control, heated 8-way power seats with 4-way adjustable lumbar support, premium leatherette vinyl upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-speaker audio system with HD and satellite radio.

Optional Features
The 2012 Volkswagen Eos offers option packages that include 17-inch wheels, parking sensors, power-folding mirrors, navigation system, sport-tuned suspension, 10-speaker Dynaudio sound system, adaptive bi-Xenon headlights, LED running lights, headlight washers, and color trip-computer display.

Under the Hood
The Volkswagen Eos is powered by a 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine rated at 200 horsepower and mated with a 6-speed manual transmission.

EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Volkswagen Eos are 22/30/25 mpg (city/highway/combined).

Safety
Standard safety features on the Volkswagen Eos include traction and stability control, pop-up rollover bars, and front-seat side air bags that provide head protection.

To date, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not tested the 2012 Volkswagen Eos. In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Eos received \"Good\" ratings--the Institute's highest--for frontal-offset, side-impact, and rear-crash protection; however, the IIHS did not test the model for roof strength.
