Exterior Features
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a 2-door luxury sports car offered in either a coupe or soft-top convertible body style. Nineteen-inch front wheels and 20-inch rear wheels are standard.

Interior Features
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG seats 2 passengers and offers 6.2 cubic feet of trunk space in its coupe variant and 6.1 cubic feet in the convertible body style. Standard amenities include leather upholstery, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, full power accessories, 6-speaker audio system with CD changer, satellite radio and iPod integration, voice-activated navigation system, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Optional Features
Mercedes-Benz offers a wide array of leather upholstery upgrades for the SLS AMG, as well as several different wheel choices. The Extended Interior Carbon Fiber package includes genuine carbon fiber on door-sill plates, seat frames, and other accents. A carbon fiber engine compartment cover is also available separately, as are a carbon ceramic braking system, AMG Performance Suspension, and a premium 1,000-watt audio system.

Under the Hood
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is fitted with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine rated at 563 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive and an AMG Speedshift dual-clutch 7-speed automated manual transmission are standard, as is an AMG sport-tuned suspension.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG are 14/20/16 mpg (city/highway/combined).

Safety
Standard safety features on the SLS AMG include two knee air bags, seat-mounted side-impact torso air bags, and Mercedes-Benz' Mbrace telematics.

To date, neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have tested the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
