Exterior Features
The 2012 Lincoln MKS is a luxury sedan offered in three trim levels: front-wheel drive (FWD), all-wheel drive (AWD), and EcoBoost. Standard are 18-inch alloy wheels, parking sensors, fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, heated power-operated outside mirrors with memory, and other amenities.

Interior Features
Standard interior amenities on the Lincoln MKS include a power rear sunshade, cruise control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, 8-way power front seats with power lumbar support, heated rear seats, and the Sync voice-activated system.

Optional Features
The 2012 Lincoln MKS Navigation package includes a blind-spot warning system, reversing camera, touch-screen navigation system, surround-sound system, and other features. The Ultimate package adds upgraded leather upholstery and dual-pane sunroof. The EcoBoost trim adds such touches as 20-inch chrome wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Under the Hood
The FWD and AWD versions of the Lincoln MKS are fitted with a 3.7-liter V-6 engine rated at 273 horsepower and mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control and paddle shifters. The AWD EcoBoost is fitted with a twin-turbocharged, 3.5-liter, V-6 EcoBoost engine rated at 355 horsepower.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Lincoln MKS are:
- MKS with FWD: 17/24/19 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- MKS with AWD: 16/23/19 mpg
- MKS EcoBoost: 17/25/20 mpg

Standard safety features on the 2012 Lincoln MKS include traction and stability control, air bags, anti-lock brakes with brake assist--with adaptive cruise control as an option--bundled with a collision warning system and brake support.

In government tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Lincoln MKS received 4 (out of 5) stars for rollover protection. The NHTSA has not assigned the MKS a rating for overall safety or for frontal-offset or side-impact crash protection. In safety tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the MKS received \"Good\" ratings--the Institute's highest--for frontal-offset, side-impact, and rear-impact crash protection, as well as for roof strength, and named the Lincoln MKS as a \"Top Safety Pick\" in 2012.
