The Land Rover LR4 is the automaker's all-new entry into the midsize luxury SUV field. It replaces the LR3, and provides more power (via a larger V-8 engine made by Jaguar), more luxury features, and a more exciting exterior trim, says Land Rover. The LR4 competes with the Audi Q7, Lexus GX 460, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz ML-Class, and other midsize luxury SUVs.

Standard features on the 2010 Land Rover LR4 include 19-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, power accessories (including 8-way front-seat adjustability), leather upholstery, power tilt-and-slide front sunroof, fixed rear sunroof, rear parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 9-speaker sound system, plus much more. The HSE package includes front parking sensors, heated front seats, heated windshield, and heated washer jets, plus Bluetooth connectivity and a hard-drive-based navigation system. Other packages add keyless ignition, keyless entry, backup camera, a third-row seat, interior mood lighting, and upgrades to the sound system and upholstery. At the highest end, the HSE Lux Plus option package includes heavy-duty features, such as an active locking rear differential. Many options are available as stand-alones.

When equipped with the third-row seat, the 2010 Land Rover LR4 can carry seven people, and, when properly equipped, tow 7700 pounds. It features 44.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats up. With the rear seats folded down, cargo capacity is 87.4 cubic feet.

While the LR3 employed a 4.4-liter V-8 engine, the LR4 has upgraded to a 5.0-liter V-8 that produces 375 horsepower and 375 lb.-ft. of torque. It's coupeed with a 6-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive. The LR4 also features an independent suspension, and a knob-controlled \"Terrain Response\" system. According to the EPA, the 2010 Land Rover LR4 delivers 12 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway.

Standard safety features on the 2010 Land Rover LR4 include anti-lock disc brakes, traction control, stability control, and hill descent control, plus front side air bags and side curtain air bags.

Starting MSRP for the 2010 Land Rover LR2 was $47,250.
